There was a lot from the end of A Storm of Swords that this season is leaving for next year. I wouldn't be surprized if LSH is in next years finale, with Brienne and Pod, instead of random Freys.

The makers of the show said some time ago they wouldn't do any and are just gonna surpass Martin if he doesn't hurry(he told them what happens next already in case he were to die before the books were done, so that someone could finish the story for him).
Whole season should of been covered in the first few episodes. The pacing is painful. Almost as bad as reading bleach.
Would have been a cool teaser to end the season on. Their soaring music closers don't really do anything for me.

What stuck out the most to me: Quote: Toby Sebastian (newcomer) as Trystane Martell. “Trystane Martell is Prince Doran’s son and heir to Dorne. His father betrothed him to Myrcella Baratheon as part of the alliance offered by Tywin Lannister, then Hand of the King.” This is just blatantly false, Trystane is not the heir to Dorne, in fact he is probably the least important Dornish character, as he has never had lines, we haven't even met him. Arianne Martell is the eldest child and heiress to Dorne, and yet she is nowhere on the cast list, despite the fact that she is a major character in the Dornish storyline, being the only one (besides Areo Hotah's one chapter that introduced Dorne) thus far to have POV chapters. There are even 2 released excerpts from Book 6 that are Arianne chapters, so she is obviously very important going forward. Sooo where is she guys? Did she just get cut out? So, the first 4 episodes being leaked, HBO Now being exclusive to Apple TV, Australian courts ordering ISP's to release the names of people who illegally downloaded previous seasons...
It seems a lot the drama and intrigue in season 5 is outside of the show. PS, they seem to be bringing back the boobs. Maybe they should stop being *** and release the whole season at once.
The old weekly allotment is antiquated and it's HBO, a paid service so it's not an ad revenue thing like network TV. Maybe, but their subscription based model ensures 4 months of income by spacing 10 episodes throughout 4 months strategically. In order to make the same money, they'd have to charge like 80 bucks to download a season and people are already getting it for free, so...
Interestingly, it doesn't appear they or their HBO Now providers were hacked, and none have yet to make a statement... Publicity stunt? Sting operation? Corporate fumble? |
