Just meant the overwhelming majority of BSTs are too lazy to carry extra gear around. Thus, they make a name for their job as a whole, and drag the actually well-geared, good DD ones down. It's the same with most jobs that have trouble with party invites. (Lolpup anyone?)

Every job class is like that these days when you're leveling up. This is in part due to level sync. People will avoid skilling up, buy new gear, etc., just because they will eventually get an invite from someone no matter what. I'm in a linkshell with argueably one of the best BST on any server, and he pumps out some hella dmg with his Guttler and is amazing at his job. His other jobs are geared well also. So it is far from what job you invite to do things, its the players themselves and how much time they have put in to that job.

i have to admit..ive seen some oddly geared bst that made me turn my head..but cant help but look up to a bst who has a fully upgraded relic weapon... /salute...think i may have seen him..dont remember his name
was one of the few bsts that i was just like WOW thats some pimp gear...i think im well geared but compared to the bst i saw a while back..made mine looklol

I'd love to get a Guttler for BST. BST is probably my favorite job. I know I'm missing a few pieces like Adaberk, Heaven's Rings, AF+1, Osode, Toreador's Ring, Heca body, a few other minor upgrades and of course Guttler. But at this point in the game I feel my BST is about as good as its going to get. I just never really get a chance to use it anymore which makes me a little sad=/

You know people would miss us BST if we all vanished. Then, they might actually have to kill a NM with a good drop starting at 100% instead of waiting to steal it during a swap.

Yeah, from a programming angle, not sure how they would implement Sic choice, but it would be sweet (Maybe Jaerik has some ideas).

I don't think they could do it by name, but maybe something like:

Sic1, Sic2, Sic3, etc.

Then we'd just have to learn which is which for a given mob. It would be sweet to be able to always use Dark Spore or Silence Gas with a full HP Funguar, or to selectively use enfeebles.

However, I just don't see it happening /sadpanda.
lolol boy were you wrong :p

Copied from XI wiki:

When the Beastmaster Job Ability "Call Beast" was added with the Rise of the Zilart expansion, many of its Jug Pets (excluding the CoP ones) were added in the April 2003 update. Five Jug Pets, however, have sat idle in the game's files, unable to be crafted because they lack recipes. To date, they have not been added, nor does it appear there are any plans for them to be added. They are:

Lucky Lulush (Rabbit, possibly of another color)- Lucky Carrot Broth (Lv23)
Coeurl Familiar (Coeurl)- Brain Broth (Lv38)
Fatso Fargann (Leech)- Foul Blood Broth (Lv43)
Swift Sieghard (Slime or Hecteyes)- Mellow Bird Broth (Lv53)
Crafty Clyvonne (Coeurl)- Cunning Brain Broth (LV63)
==============================================================================

It's too bad really. I would love to have more jug pets around, especially Coeurls and Slimes, that'd be so useful without being game breaking overpowered in my opinion.

Bolded parts.. SE was planning Lv76-90 jugs for future use it seems :D

honestly charming in abyssea is a terrible idea it was good they removed it.

I wouldof been whm/bst from day one, main healing an alliance and dding like a boss etc any job couldof, or a bst30 go in, charm -> 2 hour and go nuts for 30 minutes

bst/blm could ele seal sleep a lvl 90 mob then spam charm until it worked eventually, wouldnt even need someone to assist the charm

^ this + all the extra CHR you could charm a IT use 2hr then pop a revit and have fun for 30 mins then repeat.

I Can't play pet job, I hate it.But I don't mind ppl coming bst/pup ect.Have some1 in ls who come pup or bst pretty often to event and it never bothered me.

Altho......A bst that take 50 mins to solo a NM I need and refuse help, MAKES ME RAGE.But that is all soloer in general, just see bst solo more often then anything else.
