doesn't attack do quite a lot for sa? not to mention that just because you're able to sneak attack doesn't mean that you won't be meleeing at all.
If this ability is used by a Thief, the next strike will also receive a bonus of 1 base weapon damage for every point of DEX the player has when the attack hits.

Base weapon dmg > attack
Not always... plus it only applies to the first hit and it's outside of ftp for ws calculations.

To be perfectly honest, most of this discussion is moot due to the fact that gear is not taken into consideration. If you have 5/5 Emp+2 and twilight belt, you are only at 23% haste. Tiercel necklace and Rapidus put you at 25% and still give you nice stats. That leaves your earring/ring/back/ammo slots that you can use for extra damage. Atheling for back, suppa/brutal for earring, epona's/rajas for ring and you really don't have a lot more options for TP. Having 12 acc and 1% haste on a dagger looks really nice in this setup, but not everyone has this.

True on the SA info. And to add to that DEX doesnt have a cap on SA where as STR and attack do...however you would really have to parse to see if 9 STR 20 attack during tp phase would beat out that 9 dex every 50 secs (best case). If we're talking strictly abyssea STR is pretty easy to cap, attack, especially for thf, is not.

As far as gear goes, 4/5 af+2 and haste feet would win out over using 5/5. That way you can use whatever daggers you want and still be capped on haste as well as using love or agasayas on neck for better dps.
