For THF, NIN & Monk

Want to do a every Mega Boss zone to be able fight shin. Also, want to be able to tank some NM's to obtain some of the most important Atmas.

Thank you.

Also, Atmas for war to skill up all other weapons to reach the cap.

Thank you

Gnarled Horn, Razed Ruins, Apocalypse.

If you are expecting to fight some NMs that use severely damaging moves or spells, it may be wiser to swap Apoc out for some -Damage or +Elemental Atmas

It helps, I edited my 2nd post with a list for you. Not all Elemental resistance Atmas are needed for the NMs in Aby, but I added them for completion

atma 1: Razed Ruins
Self explanitory. You're not gonna do enough damage without this, meaning you wont hold as much hate and you'll kill really slowly.

atma 2: Sanguine Scythe
More HP to add to survivability, More enmity to re-build hate faster after hate reset (which ALOT of mobs have in abyssea) and Crit hit damage + for more damage. Best generalized tanking atma for generalized fights.

atma 3: Flexible Slot
Once you get this third slot, you can start to be flexable with it.

Atma of the Apocalypse is a good atma to put here. Triple attack(15% of it... quite amazing), Re-raise III so your WHMs dont have to be too worried if you die (which you will die on occasion) and it makes getting up, using mijin gakure to die and wipe weakness, then getting up again, really fast and easy. And instant cast which will save your *** with quickly cast Nis and *** you over on occasion with quick cast Ichis when you haven't taken down that last Ni shadow yet XD.

The resist atmas take the place of AoA when you're fighting something they apply to, earth for glavoid. fire for orthrus and the moth in attohwa etc.

Essentially this is the slot for anything you need to shove in here, depending on the fights. Before this slot is opened you can swap out Sanguine Scythe, after you get the third slot, for 95% of fights you want both RR and SS, then whatever else.

Also if you plan on persuing tanking seriously look into the abyssites of merit.

getting them all should be one of your top priorities whether you are tanking or not

you dont need an HP atma with thf. i use RR GH and MC. and i can solo LV without even using any shadows as thf/nin. isnt SS off burkis or whatever his name is.

All 3 of those jobs can utilize evasion to some extent, making GH a prime choice since it will contribute 25 evasion along with increasing your damage output. MNK generally doesn't need to evade but it increases counter rate as well, so still useful. SS's HP increase is based on your max HP before cruor buffs so it's really not that big an increase in HP, maybe 300 tops. That said, it's probably going to be your best third atma til you get Apoc and may situationally replace GH after that. Dark Depths may replace Sanguine Scythe if it means you don't have to wear as much eva gear.

I've never felt a need to use a resist or -damage atma tbh. PDT and MDT swaps (plus Shell V) take care of that with minimal impact on your DPS.

does thf even have pdt and mdt gear ? i dont remember seeing any anywhere. only time i really use apoc is when im on whm other then that i dont really worry about it. since it's pretty hard to die these days in abyssea even solo. if you got the skills you can pretty muc htake anything on in this game in abyssea

on nin and thf, for enemies that use a variety of different elemental magics and tp moves, i sometimes like to use future fabulous (a synthetic atma from beating wotg.) it has about 50 mdb on it, which cuts down a lot of attacks to manageable levels

THF gets the all jobs equipment (augmented Dark Rings, Merman's Earrings, Twilight Torque), along with Darksteel, Coral, Denali Wristbands, and Avalon Breastplate, so yeah. PDT generally isn't super important for THF due to high evasion (though it's still useful for nasty TP moves), but MDT gear is always good to have.
