Faize From Star Ocean (Spoilers, Lol Don't Read Until You're On Disc 3)

Was anyone pissed when Faize left the party to be replaced by Arumat?

I was, Faize became my favorite character in there... and Lymle was awesome too, 'kay?

You can keep Faize in your party the 2nd play threw after you beat the game once, Just not the first.

That reminds me of how they did that in FFVII. . .you sit there working on Aeris(Aerith) leveling her up and what not, and the BAM!!! she dies. . .SE makes some bad choices.

No, you pick one or the other. The Eldarians share a character slot. Story cutscenes don't change at all. (Arumat still shows up in cutscenes even if you choose to keep Faize.) You just get to use Faize and not the other on your subsequent playthroughs. They both learn Duplication, though.

Only real effect it has is if you care about achievements and such, since Arumat and Faize have specific recipes that need them in the invention group to make. Faize has rapiers and Arumat has scythes.

Dragon Roar vs. Stabity-stab/Ice Needles/Reaping Spark... Yeah...

At least Faize twirls and hops up and down in his battle stance.
