Im looking for a simple device that will monitor a single rooms temp and notify me by phone or text if it reaches a certain number.
Or
a device that will notify me by phone or text to a specific outlet and/or whole house power going out AND lets me see in real time if the power is currently up or down.
Any suggestions?

Raspberry Pi set up with a temp sensor and email alerts.
well email wouldnt work. Would need call or text. But how would i go about setting something like that up? I looked on there webpage, but i had never heard of raspberry pi before. Much less how to hook a sensor up to it.
