Has anyone noticed anything different?

Apparently the formula got changed, and I have to say - it seems to be for the worse.

According to the Killing Ifrit forums via Kirschy, the formula used to be straight 50% then rounded down, now its around 1/3 of the mobs tp rounded then some type of modifier.


Anyone noticed anything?

All I noticed is bale gauntlets +2 and the fact many DRKs never geared properly for it.

Maybe this is yet another incentive for DRKs to explore Magic casting builds.

I'm hoping that this is correct and by gearing yourself properly you can influence the ability of Absorb-TP.

Not a straight nerf, as many people are calling it.

I notice absolutely nothing different with Absorb-TP. Though I rarely bother casting it.

I miss the days when it was first introduced, and you could absorb 150+ at virtually anytime.

Where did you hear the formula changed? Or are you just eyeballing? I haven't noticed anything different at all, it works fine when I do rarely cast it.

Absorb spells of all kind, even Absorb TP are fail. Altho would be cool if the af3 hands let you absorb 100% of the mobs TP like the old days x;

I'm willing to bet this is part of the equation:

The amount of TP a character deals to the target will now decrease proportionate to his or her AGI.

Can't steal much if we don't deal much.

Wait one minute here!!!! I havent really noticed a change, but your telling me they gimped the spell, just to make the af hands enhance it??!! Thats a croc of bull!!! 1 step back, 2 steps forward!! Thanks SE!! :)

Its like when they have those "Sales" at some department store when they raise the price then put a "Sale" tag with a percentage to bring it barelly lower than the original price. But in our case they have lowered it to raise it....sigh.

absorbed like 45 tp from a mob that a ninja has been hitting on for like 30seconds.
and got like 95 tp from a mob where several people were ganging up on it.

imo. level up dark magic :D
