Got the trousers earlier this and i love the double attack and triple attack on them, but today, i just been to get Ace's hose and obtained them pretty easily.
There does not seem to be much between them, specially for an Abyssea situation, ACC does not matter much, but it seems difficult to cap haste with DRK unless you got +2 afv3s (which i do not have yet).

What would you rather use? It seems to me its a matter of DA+2% TA +2% vs Haste+1%.
I can still use the calmecac on my THF, although it seems really situational, i can cap out haste on THF much easier due to the lovely twilight belt boost, so i use my calmecac to TP in, instead of the afv3+1 legs.

Basically want to see if i should keep this piece, or just sell it back over AH while its still pricey.

Calmecac. If you need that extra haste, that's what Blitz Ring is for.

But using a Blitz ring means you have to swap out Rajas and Epona's rings.. which is pretty gay lol.

Oh lame, i should have known that lol, forgive me for my major blond moment, it happens sometimes, so i guess i should keep the calmecac and buy a blitz ring?

Also one reason why i figured some may use the Aces hose, is for the Store TP to help towards lowering hit builds.

Wouldn't lowering your hit build be worth so much more then the extra DA and TA?

Edit: I know Aces does not have store tp, but the hoard and rajas ring do, which you would lose my using a Blitz ring.

You're thinking Ace's Feet. You could technically pair the Calmecac with Ace's Feet, but you'd be trading out a lot of accuracy. I'd use the combo for inside abyssea with Razed Ruins.

You should put your gearset together with your weapon and ask this question again, especially when you want to ask about x-hit build.

Read my edit, some prefer to lower the hit build, something which Aces hose helps a lot towards due to the best haste in that slot.

I think the only thing i need to lower my hit build to the next stage is a Tactical mantle, got to get on my ffxi calculator though to figure it out.

Edit: How do i post my gear setups on here?

Your better off using the calmecac trousers and pairing rajas with blitz like others said. If you really wanna lower your hit build, can always trade blitz for hoard ring which is 4 Store TP.

1% haste for 4 STP? Dont quote me on it but if it puts you on a lower hit build go for it!

click on "Item Sets" in your member menu. Add an Item set and it'll be easy to figure it out from there.

You will need White Tathlum on top of that to maintain a 5hit build, and that's providing you hit 4/4 on your Guillotine's, 3/4 = 6hit.

So basically if i got Tactical mantle, or White tathlum + the STP+1 earring, i got 5 hit build?

Edit: So i am thinking, if i cannot get the lower hit build just yet, i should use Calmecac Trousers + Blitz Ring, then once i have the Store tp gear for it there is no more use for them?

According to my calculator, even if i got White Tathlum + Attila's Earring i would not get a 5 hit build, as i need a minimum of 24 Store TP and i currently have STP +19.

Nvm is late and didn't really think it through.

Above set is 19.3, assuming you're dropping Hoard/Goading/Ace's for WS then you'd net 20.9 for landing all 4 hits, so even then you wouldn't have enough for 5hit /SAM (need 4STP in your TP set). Tactical will do this fine, and will still give you 5hit if you get 3/4 hits.

Rose Strap
Brutal Earring
Rajas Ring
Hoard Ring
Ace's Leggings
Goading Belt
Tactical Mantle

This is all you need for STP during TP, you can drop everything except the obvious Rose/Brutal/Rajas for WS.

Should go for a Goading Belt. 5 sTP, and an additional haste on top of it, sounds like a winner to me.

Ok so i am just looking for Mantle and the belt and i will be set, they are the only Store TP gears i currently do not have :)

And until then i guess i am stuck with using the really ugly Calmecac trousers and Blitz Ring?

Edit: Btw i use /SAM normally, so i get an extra Store tp+15, not sure if you was adding that in before.

So i guess that settles it, for DRK's who find themselves in a similar situation to myself.

- Calmecac and Blitz Ring wins if you do not have the Store TP to lower your hit build.
- Ace's Hose will win if you got the other Store TP gear to complement it, so it is still worth getting.

Thanks for the tips :)

Ideal TP set for a DRK at the moment (Minus Quad Attack neck), Calmecac beats Ace's hands down.

How is that set ideal Gradd? Can't you drop the pole grip, put in Rose, and use a better haste belt? Or will that 1 minor STP you're missing really jack your build up?

Thats 26% haste in gear, why would you give up 2% DA for 4 STP? That Setup lets you WS in w/e you want as well.

Gradd, since you're good @ drk and all that, what would be the optimal tp set look like using Twilight Scythe? I could figure it out myself but being lazy, sorry. :(

I have head/body/hands +2 btw.
