Unkai Kabuto

First off I went back thru the sam forums and couldnt find any threads hinting at unkai kabuto. Now..i've been playing sam off/on for about 2 yrs now and was always sure that Seigan can counter w/o TE being up...so when wiki says "gives a chance to counter w/o TE being up" really confused me. Did something get lost in the translation? How does this enhance seigan?

It basically gives you a minor chance to Counter with Seigan up, with(even though you do already with TE) and without.

but thats what I dont get...i already have the chance to counter w/o TE....nothing is really enhanced according to the wiki description. If I was still wearing my walmart hat I'd still be able to counter w/o TE and only Seigan.

If you are countering w/o wearing the kabuto you need to stop subbing mnk.

When these counters occur are you using gnarled horn atma? that gives some counter

i'm usually /dnc for ease of soloing dolls for skilling up and have always gotten counters when TE is down..not alot mind you but enuf to not call this an enhancement :D

No...I think im using razed ruin, mounted champion and something else taht eludes me atm..but I know its not GH. But even outside abyssea I've gotten counters w/o TE up.

Didn't that semi-recent Zanshin update make it so you can counter during Seigan without Third Eye active?

Seigan allows Zanshin-related Counters without Unkai Kabuto +1/+2 or Third Eye
Appears to occur at a low rate (perhaps Zanshin rate÷4)

kabuto+2:
Enhances Seigan gives ~10% Counter rate, even when Third Eye is not active.

Interesting, I never knew.

I think it used to be that Seigan did nothing unless you had Third Eye up. (except Fast Cast-)

Then with Abyssea and the introduction of AF3+2 we got the hat to allow you to counter with Seigan, even when TE is down.

Then, we got a SAM update:
Hasso - you can now Zanshin. (on melee swings)
Seigan - you can now counter. (without TE)

Basically wiki's refering to the time before the Seigan update where you could only counter with TE up.

You could always counter with Seigan. It was a joke before that if you countered you would lose 3rd eye the very next swing. This is all way way before Abyssea content.
