Hi everyone,

When I saw the Great Katanas in the update, I was surprised there was any talk about Suijingiri Kanemitsu, as it didn't appear interesting at all. To me, Tomonari appears to be the interesting new weapon.

If this is TP Bonus+100, it looks like it beats Amano 99 according to the DPS spreadsheet. Everything left at the default, including the target of Ig-Alima.

Any other thoughts on this?

I have the following gearsets plugged into the spreadsheet:

TP:
ItemSet 294307

WS:
ItemSet 294310

Depends how much of a bonus the tp bonus is assuming 100 could be true could be false we dont know until we test it...

Assuming it has 100 TP Bonus, this is an absolutely steamy weapon. Compared to Kantonotachi, it's +6 DMG, +6 STR, +10 Attack, STP+5, and 10% faster. 420 delay versus 464 delay.

Whoa. Whoaaa.

According to BGWiki ( http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Tomonari ), this is crafted using Smithing (96) with:

Tama-Hagane
Ancient Lumber
Manta Leather
Scintillant Ingot
Wamoura Silk
Midrium Ingot x2
Mantid Carapace

Midrium Ore can probably be mined in Morimar Basalt Fields (as well as some Reives), but getting to the mining points appears to be problematic.

407 delay on the HQ SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS though. Also OP, I'm pretty sure you'd have to TP in kappa + unkai mimikazari.

Tomonari is crafted.

Tomonari

If the TP bonus is 100 this looks to be a huge upgrade from the magian TP bonus GK even with the speed it has. It evens out since it has store tp on it already.

Done with Lv99 Sam with 5 Store TP merits using these sets:
NQ: TP 51 WS 11

TP
ItemSet 294554

Shoha
ItemSet 294555

HQ: TP 56 WS 21

TP
ItemSet 294556

Shoha
ItemSet 294557

These sets should work for a 5 hit setup if all shoha hits connect. Using gear readily available on my server. Voidwatch groups are rare as hell so didnt include tenryu +1 stuff. Not saying these are Best options available either just throwing out a higher looking set. The math on the Store TP should be right though or at least each set should be a 5 hit.

Edited to correct tired mistakes.

If my sets are wrong, then that means it beats Amano 99 by an even larger margin if TP Bonus is 100.

Thanks. Your TP set is actually more accessible to me, except the neck, as I don't have Phos+1 and I am currently working on Usukane.

Just hoping TP bonus is 100 and we clearly have the new Hagun!

+1 pretty much equal 99 amano spamming Kaiten when accuracy isn't needed (if tp bonus is 100).

So I screwed up on my Store TP math up there was 4 AM when i did it and i apparently thought shoha was a 3 hit WS. Just now bothered checking it. Edited the sets to make them actual 5 hits now lol.

Update!
Finished parsing Kikugosaku on just Huge Hornets from the back with exactly 102% TP most of the time, 25 WSs, average Gekko was around 750... swinging the Tomonari now, should be done in less than an hour, hopefully.

wish it used hagun skin at the very least :(

as far as I'm concerned as long as you can 5hit the nq reliably then nq > hq. that delay is killer X_x

I'm not a mathy sort of person so I don't know how exactly you conduct the tests, but wouldn't you need to take tests with Tomonari at both 200% ws and 300% ws to get an idea if its tpbonus+100 or not(the WS numbers would come out the same at 200% and 300% if it was)? Wouldn't the Base damage on the weapons change your WS damge numbers? or would it not matter enough that you can see how much tp bonus is applied?

Both his method and yours work. As you stated at the end, the base damage will not have a significant enough impact. TP Bonus+100 will have a much more significant impact on GK WS damage than a few base weapon damage.

it'd easily rule out tp bonus+100 vs tp bonus+50 sure, doesn't mean it's not something arbitrary like +80 though

If it comes back as not TP Bonus+100, then Moonshade would be sufficient to see if the TP Bonus is high enough for it to be viable.

How obtainable are the materials for this out of curiosity? Is this a weapon that will make it's way into most of the player base's hands easily or will magian still be worth while for anyone without a deep pocket?

Okay, and finished with my testing rounds -
It really isn't enough data to be 100% conclusive, but it should hopefully be a step in the right direction... that, and I do have to sleep sometime. >.>
Kikugosaku - ~102% TP
Melee Damage
Player Melee Dmg Abs'd.Dmg Net Dmg Melee % Hit/Miss M.HR % M.Acc % M.Low/Hi M+0.Avg M-0.Avg
Dantalian 36772 0 36772 66.05 % 112/4 96.55 % 96.55 % 249/353 304.33 304.33

Melee Crit Damage

Dantalian 28 385/412 400.29 25.00 %

Weaponskill Damage
Player WSkill Dmg Abs'd.Dmg Net Dmg WSkill % Hit/Miss WS.Acc % WS.Low/Hi WS.Avg
Dantalian 18898 0 18898 33.95 % 25/0 100.00 % 626/869 755.92
- Tachi: Gekko 18898 0 18898 100.00 % 25/0 100.00 % 626/869 755.92

Tomonari - ~100% TP

Gekko is 1.5625 at 100% TP, and 1.875 at 200% TP - have at it. =)

Oh, and also, I dropped 2,600,000 on it in total, other people were buying up Midrium Ore towards the end of it, and that also includes a nice 400k tip to the awesome JP crafter I found for it. It's Manta Leather, Scintillant Ingot, 2x Midrium Ingots, Manta Leather, Mantid Carapace, Ancient Lumber, Tama-Hagane, Wamoura Silk.

Edit: Ease of getting, it's not too bad, and once the initial demand dies down, it should be readily obtainable, with the only difficult part being finding a crafter and getting Scintillant Ingot. The rest is generally easy pickings. Currently, though, 100+ people in the zone trying to mine these up, packed 6-10 per mining point, so it might be a bit before prices drop somewhat. Imagine a lot of folks are gonna keep the ores for personal usage, shouted offering 300k per and had zero takers.

*nod* But when they're idle, is my problem. >.> Once they have aggro, it's pretty easy to tell back from front since they lean into it a bit, too... dunno, will have to look at 'em a bit closer to see if I can see it. =)
