Guess some knew this but maybe other didn't. Either way, I'm happy about getting an official email regarding it.
This is a part of the email I received from Square Enix this morning (Newsletter)
Beta Testing FFXIV: ARR is currently in the beta testing stage, with plans to begin the third phase of testing on June 14, 2013. All players who hold a service account from Version 1.0 have been granted access to the beta test. We welcome all players from Version 1.0 to download the beta client and see the myriad changes in FFXIV: ARR. * Additional information regarding how to participate in the beta test will be sent at a later date. Yea, I didn't though, so it was great news!
SE did something that most gaming companys don't do they put the customer in front of the line, i respect SE for doing this and i will be returning to ffxiv.
I called ffxiv tech support last week the nice person toldme to reinstall the game and validated my Ver.1 status so i am hyped to get back in there and play this new improved version, I hope they have a recruit a friend promotion i have a few who are waiting to see how i like it before they move to a new mmo. ffxi first mmo for me and loved it til latency became a real issue hope to see many new people and would love to see this game take off and bring new people to the world of ff series of games. and now back to civ5 so burnt on on swtor and wow.... Any chance that owners of 1.0 copies which haven't been registered can get in as well?
I have preordered 1.0 CE back then, but never got around to playing it as I was saving up some money for a PC that could handle that game. By the time I had saved up enough cash, the servers were shut down, so my copy has been sitting on my shelve gathering dust for nearly 3 years now. Ideas on how I can register my 1.0 copy and receive a beta invite? You probably needed to be playing all along to get the beta invite.

I doubt it because it says "all players who hold a version 1.0 service account" Also Legacy players already received their beta keys at the beginning of phase 1. ;) I'm not legacy (personal decision due to school) but I did play version 1.0. Even if you download the installation file now it still asks for a registration key making you unable to patch. Kinda pointless at the moment.

got reg code in but servers keep timingout must be a lot of folks hot to get in the beta and that's a good thing.
My brother got a password for the PS3 version but every time he tries to redeem the code on the PS3 it is saying the code is invalid. Who should he contact or is this just a temporary problem?
I looked everywhere for this couldn't find an answer. Downloaded the beta client. When I get to terms and conditions page I click the agree check box but it wont let me press "next" to proceed. Any ideas?
My problem is I am lost. I am trying to find out something here because I DON'T know if I am 1.0 (I doubt it) but I did purchase the collectors edition. I didn't get the pre-beta key back when this whole Beta thing started I had to register for it.
...I don't know. I just hope I am not out $80 for this. The game pissed me off after a month and I didn't register for a renewal at all. I just don't know where to turn to get an answer about this. Was a v1.0 player, just DL'd beta and entered beta 3.
It looks/feels so much better. But somehow I couldn't connect into JP servers. Could only connect into EU (Moogle) Maybe it's cause i'm from Singapore. IP lock? had a blast over weekend so much better then the ver.1 can't wait to unsub from swtor and play ffxiv arr.
I think they mentioned if you have purchased version 1.0 before, you can download the game client of Ver 2.0 for free, which means you only have to pay for the monthly fee from then on. They intend to get this game out to as many people as possible lol. We shall see, the beta phase 3 is in a very good shape, I am sure the launch will be a decent success at the very least, or even bigger one if they advertise. SE seems to be very confident with this build, and they should be, game is looking very good.
