No idea how it is on other servers, but I camped Ogopogo for 2 days on Asura with almost no competition for souls. Got that done pretty quick. Just loaded up videos to watch between kills. I wasn't a fan of jumping between zones.
Most of time there isnt many problems with those farming in a low populated zone, one because low population, two because this became faster with new gear so quickly people get done and move on, three because its uncommon abyssea mercing outside assura.
Most competition for souls in assura must be mercs collecting KIs. Maybe they just moved to more profitable business leaving camps to people who need for themselves. I mainly done my souls in 3-4 days just camping. For a good 2 hours once there was nobody doing them in any zones so I just switched them up and got like 14 souls in that time. Otherwise just be patient.

[414 days between previous and next post]Necro bump, but applicable. Is it better to jump between zones and farm souls or just wait between each pop? To be honest, I haven't done this since like 2011/2012, but trying to gear up my Pld as fast as I can (Trying to get Burtgang done in the next 2 weeks or so too).

[43 days between previous and next post]I will tell you when i did souls back when it was new, they were not that bad as long as i had help to kill the big nm but getting the stuff to pop them it was not that bad.

On a dead server, sure. On Asura? If there's competition it's awful. Good luck when a farmer gets a buyer, sets an account in each zone, and rotates the buyer through. Timed NM's are the worst when you have to compete. Even more so as people get older and don't always have time set aside to play. Nothing feels worse then scheduling a day for your project only to find the venue is overbooked.

Mercs can make this miserable with constant competition at timed NM spawns. (Or farming competition for pop items) It's only 18 bucks during campaign to go there and back. You will save many hours and headaches.
