If you feel so goddamn patriotic go enlist. I garuantee your views will change alot.

But but... I even heard there's no respawn point in RL !

Action replay duh

LOL

Btw, I don't understand mixing up enlisting with patriotism. You can do things right at home to benefit the country, you can go fight wars to protect the country. Both types of people are doing something for it.

Stop dividing it into such black and white parts.. sheesh..

Good point. Hanging a flag whoever doesn't help and yelling at people who don't not only doesn't but I'd go so far as to say it might even hurt

So, I've been Googling various phrases, usually with the words "American" and "holiday" in it, and I have yet to see one website that lists "Patriot Day" as a holiday.

In 50 years or so, everyone will forget about Patriot Day, like they do Pearl Harbor Rememberence Day, and D-Day.

In December of 2001 Congress declared 9/11 Patriot Day. Along with flying flags at half mast a moment of silence should be observed.

Businesses and Organizations who just didn't give a ***:

I'll look for more later today. I like how both of these places flew their flags at half mast for a week when Senator Ted Kennedy died but can't for a Congressionally declared day.

Where have you guys seen the flag at full mast today?

i see a guy encouraging everyone else to mob up and point out anyone with the gall not to obey the holy order to fly any flags at half mast

when you want everyone to get together and start branding the scarlet letter on anyone who didn't follow some random declaration, i'd say you're well into mindless nationalism territory

With the logic flying around in here it seems a lot easier to just pass on flying a flag at all, lest you be ***-raped by "patriots" for flying, folding or storing incorrectly. lol Hence the bumper sticker? Who knows.

ah, the voice of reason.

i mean, you'd assume the fact that they were flying their flags in the first place would indicate the intent of patriotism in the first place?

who knew?

Can I fly my flag on the second sunday after the first lunar cycle of the year if I like to eat pie rather than cake?

Flag aficionado, where are you?

Seriously, though, how can we expect to know everything about all of it? I mean, my people's people just came to them with some serious news, which they brought to me, and I have it on good authority that Bush isn't president, anymore.. Who knew?

i don't see why people even have to be patriotic at all, let alone how someone could even be more patriotic then others outside of someone who isn't at all. also don't see why 9/11 is Patriotic day. kinda dumb considering we have Independence Day. which is basically in its simplist form...i dunno... maybe Patriotic day. 9/11 shouldn't be a holiday, a day of remembrance sure. yes our nation was attacked, but we only "banded together as a nation" because the media and a bunch of speeches from politicians told us to.

Edit: not knocking anyone who is patriotic, just saying i don't get why knock someone who isn't

1-Just because you have been in 12+ years and haven't deployed doesn't mean you're a dodger. It's dependent on your branch of service, job and current manning at your home station. I know ppl that have been in 16 and even OVER 20 (past retirement) who are trying to deploy but haven't been picked

2-Yes you don't see replays of the OKC bombing. You probaly won't. To many Americans, 9-11 was a larger tragedy due to the loss of life, how our security was percieved and the political actions behind it. You don't see ppl not bringing up the holocaust.

3-Just because someone on here posting has an IRAN flag doesn't mean squat. I have a Korean one. Mine changes dependibg on where my home base is. When I was in AK, it was American. When I go to Japan, it will be Japanese. Does it make me unpatriotic? No. I've been in over 12 years and will continue to serve my country.

If you want to show your digust for these places you put on the forum, here's an idea: BOYCOTT THEM! Refuse to use their business or services. Or maybe less drastic, talk to the building manager. Maybe the new kid forgot to lower the flag to half-staff.

How many of you actually take your flags in at night from your porches? By all means you are unpatriotic because it's suppose to be light up at night.

But you signing up for the military in the first place did DIRECTLY put you there, but I wouldn't expect much from a military/ex military pos like yourself.
