im having issues with battlemod not staying in one chatlog windows

i have my chatlog set up so all game releated info is on the left side and all human coms /say /yell /shout /l is on the right.

however using battlemod i often see stuff overflowing into the right chat windows.

Is there a fix for this ?

Looking throug the settigns it looks liek this jsut adjsut IF they are showb or not. and not about in which chatlog they are going.
and again the type of messages mostly go in the correct one. just at random they pop into the other one

A battlemod message for dealing damage looks something like:

Xurion -> Fu 1,234

A regular message would be:

Xurion hits Fu for 1,234 points of damage.

Occasionally, battlemod will miss messages and they will make their way to the originally intended log. I've seen this happen on numerous occasions.

If you're seeing battlemod-style messages randomly go to your other chat log, then congratulations, you have a bug. Consider reporting it to the Windower Lua Github issues section.

without battlemods both is going nicely to the left one
With battlemods i get this split up

so the targetd chat windows did not change between running with or without battlemod.
battlemods is moving the messages to the wrong window

I understand. The issue you have is that battlemod uses two different types of log modes for the two messages you see in that screenshot.

The filters in game for selecting which log to post a message to is broken down into categories such as: say, tell, party, effects you resist and calls for help. When an addon posts a message to the chat log, the command takes two arguments: the message to log, and the mode in which to log it.

IIRC, one of the modes is 7 which is the same as a /tell, so that message will go to the log that has tells. The only way to fix it, is to move your chat filters around, but I'd assume that'd make it worse and not better.

is ther ea way to change the mode of these in hte .lua file ?

just posting one of the more weird ones



im pretty sure ( but not confirmed) that the despoil normally goes in the right chatlog (even with battlemode) jsut this time it randomly went to the left

I'd be surprised if that despoil message was randomly placed in the wrong log. Try it a few more times - I'd wager it always goes there.

Yes you can change the Lua, but it's not something I'd recommend, because:

1. You'd have to find where that logic is, modify it and have confidence it didn't break anything else, and;
2. Your changes would be overwritten on the next update to battlemod.
