FFXI Fan Gathering 2020 Meet Matsui in Boston

There was a video of the JP fan gathering but I can't find it now.
It's basically meet up with other ffxi players, they will have food and drinks and the developers and interpreters will be up on the stage and answering questions / giving a little presentation about future plans etc They will also have custom merch to buy.
They better have Cheese Sandwich +1 trays

I wonder if any of the guys from xi who hate each other will be able to make up and be friends here :D or maybe ballista it out in front of the developers!
Or maybe some whiteknight will go to event and shout: "hey, hes a RMT!" "Hey, he bots", "Hey, he cheats", "Hey, he dupes"
Can imagine those people who spam yell every 30 seconds about how mercing is directly supporting RMT in a round about way (actual yell) will start yelling the same ***every 30 seconds at the convention.
Wonder if cheg will be there, and if he is, i'm taking bets on how many people kick him in the balls

if it is anything like the XIII-3 announcement event they had at PAX west several years ago, drinks on SE's dime, some speeches from the devs, but not a lot of Q&A. the nature of this is obviously different, but I would bet money that any and all questions that are answered are pre-prepared, softball type stuff.

Just got this from the Square Enix account on Eventbrite - if the event is only 2 months away, they need to have ticket info out already so people who want to attend can make travel arrangements

What is super confusing is that the official post on the FFXI website says:

I would bet money that any and all questions that are answered are pre-prepared, softball type stuff. This. SE has learned the hard way in the past. Even the XIV Fan Fests have switched to this style due to troll questions as well as questions on topics they simply don't want to talk about. A lot safer for them, but more frustrating for us.

Real shame to since I'm only an hour away. Well, 2 hours once you start hitting traffic and all the weird routes due to terrible city planning..

The problem is that SE shits all over us, any addition to FFXI is a backhanded slap to the face. FFXI is the only reason SE is still a company. FFXI funds every flop they've attached the FF name to. Every game has been a flop 13, 14, 15, and all of there mobile garbage. The devs have no idea what the player base wants, and only seems to respond to newb morons. They don't consider that a server merger is going to be ordered by the higher ups. Yet they design most content like it's to be played on a dead server with 200 active players.

I did some googling and found this event. I can't find it publicly posted anywhere else, BUT ....It is scheduled for 2/27/2020 6pm-9pm in Boston, MA and apparently Director Fujito and Producer Matsui will be there.
Now, to think of a way to express my disappointment in the Beastmaster update, in person, without getting arrested. :)
