There isn't an answer to their question, not one they'll like anyway... I'm not exaggerating when I say that due to the polar nature of sam/rng gear requirements, I doubt a hybrid build would even approach 50% of the damage output of a specialised one.

Perhaps I should just not answer, but they need to know that this is NOT a good idea.

you'd do better with the Axe Grip for more STR.

Mythril Grip +1 is gonna outdo Axe Grip comfortably there, since I can guarantee the melee accuracy won't be very good <_<

I sure as hell can't but atleast I'm not throwing the whole "Gear swap or GTFO" crap at them

No-one has said "Gear swap or GTFO", people have simply said that to do anything remotely effectively, you can't really get away with a setup that would allow them to gain TP.

Meanwhile you're bashing the one guy that is actually trying to help the OP based on how they asked the question.

QFT. But Kyhira, derailing is a common part of FFXIAH threads. That's why I mentioned in my earlier post that this thread went from OPs question to 1+2 = ice cream sandwiches.

And also, get rid of that gorget and grab spectacles since it has ACC & R.ACC.

Ah, totally didn't see that.

Yeah swap the Gorget for Spectacles, especially since Samurai cannot wear the Jagd Gorget.

Amemet Mantle (+1 is a pretty good investment for Sam/Rng and your Rng, get it when you can :p).

Ring - Behemoth Rings

Behemoth Ring vs Sniper's Ring

My suggestion is to use 2x Sniper's Rings instead(See? No gear swap!).

Then again... it could be the stupid elitist in me, but I'd think the chance at missing during my TP stage would slow down my WS stage, which in turn would make all my gear toward Sidewinder less useful. Again, that's probably just the stupid elitist in me. While I'm at it, I think I'll go toss everything except what I need for a 6-hit. In fact, why not toss the 6-hit altogether? After all, the elitist in me says that shaving off hits will increase my Weaponskill rate. Stupid Elitist Tou... Why do you haunt me so?! What's that? Capping my GK skill for better accuracy and attack is Elitist, too? Son of a ***!

Oh woe is me, how can I possibly get away from you, Elitist Tou?! (Doubt this'll prove the point, but it was fun nonetheless)

While I commend the sentiment, this thread is beyond help. Doing SAM/RNG with no more than 1 gear swap is going to do less damage than a RDM meleeing.

The Behemoth rings' -22 Acc is matched by the /rng's Accuracy Bonus II job trait which gives +22 Acc.

The OP will have +24 Acc from the O-Hat, Relic belt, and Spectacles, which is about the same as a typical Sam using Hauby, Snipers x2 (or Rajas), and a Chiv chain. So really, Acc isn't a big deal here.

ELITIST! How dare you suggest something better than me!

Damn... Stupid Elitists... Always thinking they're better and trying to prove their ideas are better than someone else's. LET ME PLAY THE WAY I WANT!

I don't like having too many swaps either but I change my sets to fit the situation instead so I can get away with 1 TP set and 1 WS set. I change some lines in them depending on what I fight and if you can't even have 1 macro with 6 lines of gear for TP and 1 for WS then you are INCREDIBLY lazy because it takes a second or so every time you hit 100% to swap, press WS and switch back. How is that a big deal when you're increasing your damage by a lot? Stop being lazy and use your macros. It's not a difficult thing. Don't have to have 10 macros for minute differences in mobs eva/def but you can at least use a TP and WS macro. By not using them you're wasting people's time by making it take longer than it should to kill a mob or clear a quest/nyzul/whatever and that's not very nice.

Amemet+1.
To do this jobcombo you kinda need gearswaps..
Why dont you just make TWO macroes?
5 gearswaps and use the WS, then push the other macro to get back to tp gear, not that big a deal with just 2 macroes?

ok, did my 1st run with my new gear setup. things went every well. both for me and the ls. sadly im pulling alittle to much hate. had the mobs return the damage i did to them from sidewinder. going to half to work on moderation or see if tanks step up thier game.

though this shows. if i was to be doing gear swopping and doing what people clame more damage more often. i would been over kill on the hate and the run would been total ***.

well, thanks for the help.

Or you would have been able to use defensive gear and survive easily...

Nah, that's just crazy.

Shocked that you're pulling hate though... needs better DDs/tanks.

There's a RDM in one of my shells who fulltimes all their gear... including WLegs. Our poor Taru DRG ends up dying half the time for it, ***'s funny as hell but I feel bad for him too.

Does he at least swap staves..?

I knew a RDM that would cast Para in Auster's staff, rest in Light, heal in Dark (in Dyna too >.>)..

I was like "Why is this guy our RDM?"

Not sure :x At this point I just kind of look away. We used to have a pretty good RDM who was always around but I believe he quit. Out of the three who are usually RDM now... meh. I'll leave it at that.
