He's not wrong. Smoking around other people is damaging to them even if you've decided it's worth the associated detriments to yourself. That's really not a contestable thing. It's scientific fact. Second hand smoke is bad.
That aside, as long as you don't do it around people who don't want you to do it around them, I really don't give a ***if you smoke, eat 20 pizzas at once, take a piss, or go fishing.
I'll have a cigar on rare occasion myself.
But I'm not going to pretend it's somehow a healthy or benign habit.
