I'd be fine with a mii fighter if I could have a practice round or two against said Mii before going into the scored rounds; but going into a fight completely blind is just unfair.

Not something I'd drop out of the tourney for, but still not something I'd vote for, either
Sure, if you and your opponent can agree to that. I don't mind.

Edit: BTW, you want in on the Mii only tourny?

count me in on the mii tourny for sure!

Oh! for the mii tourny, why not since its Bo3, have it you have to change your mii each fight, so like, 1 gunner, 1 brawler, and 1 sword. i think that'd be a pretty cool thing to do

well i'm out then since this could of been something fun but has turned into a conceded *** fest of allowing OP chars but not ones people have fun with
You're the only one bitching and you always seem to whenever a competitive discussion is brought up about any game. The reason I think they should not be allowed is 36 different special moves vs 12. 4 of which are default, and the other 8 don't change anything except a slight difference in power or ease of use. Mii fighters are also pretty weak anyways without equipment, which are totally random on the stats they get and some are ridiculously overpowered.

whats ya guy's stance on using the ounch-out boxing ring for it? its pretty much a flat area with no surprises or environmental effects, unless ya count the light thing above the ring itself < i have yet to see it fall like it was mentioned in E3 lol>

Doesn't Palutena have a similar advantage (I know it's not as many moves though)? Doesn't seem like too big a deal to me, but I haven't played the full version yet. If they suck without the equipment and we're not allowing equipment anyway, the element of surprise won't help much, I'd wager.

I don't mind either way how it turns out, but I'd hate to see someone not play with us because we said no to a character.

Walk-off stage that also allows for circular camping in the middle. Definitely not recommended.

She won't use all of her options, same as anyone else. Auto-reticle is a given, up-b will be Warp or Jump Glide, down-b will be Counter or Lightweight. Side-b will be Angelic Missile or Super Speed unless they know they're facing a very projectile-heavy character, in which case they might opt for Reflect.

Then again, I don't see the fuss over Mii Fighters. It's not 36 moves, it's 3 unique (albeit mediocre) characters in one slot. The moment you pick one you're back down to the standard 12 options.

Mii fighters can all have different sizes, an option between style, and then the 81 different possible ways to set up their specials. That's 729 different ways you can have a single Mii fighter compared to the 81 different combinations for everyone else. And everyone else besides Paluntena's customs don't really change the way you'd play the character.

For a game where a bomb can appear suddenly when you're in the middle of an attack and kill you, the randomness of the Mii fighters is pretty tame.

Each Mii class has unique normals/aerials, so it's a bit disingenuous to simply call it a "style". Size and height differences are relevant though since it affects several characteristics.

I couldn't think of a better word at the time other than style. Fisticuffs, Sword, and Gun being the "styles."

Before someone flips out over <insert low tier here>, that list is entirely based on initial tournament results in Japan. Even the people that made it don't put any real stock in it.

I'll back the top 5 though, I'll be surprised if any of them ever drop below the top 10.

First off, how exactly is that going to work for someone that plays multiple characters? Second, the ***?

It's to add spice to the tournament. Nobody said you have to use the same character throughout the entire tournament.

You can fight using your best character up until the finals, and then either take a chance and use your best character or use your second best character in the finals. Only the winner of that fight is banned from the winner. So, if I use Lucario and win, I can't use Lucario during the first WiiU tournament.

However, it's not set in stone. If enough people don't like it, then it can be abolished.

It was just an idea.

Love fighting Mac scrubs online. He countered fully charged f-smash at perfect range from shulk, charges in with the counter and gets hit w/ the rest of the blade = ko

Then the other 8 times I just got him off the ledge np. He got me twice though where I slipped up (well tried Ludwig, switching from Shulk for one of them).

Last night I was fighting a player using Ganondorf a lot on 1vs1 combat. The guy was pretty good, kept using that dash-grab move that knocks you down, then he follows up with a down kick to launch me up.

I had to keep using Extreme Speed to get to the other side of him so he wouldn't kick me in midair while I'm recovering.

The times I won, it's because of 100+% Force Palm kept knocking him back and out, and while he was coming back, I was charging an Aura Sphere to keep him from reaching the platform.

Counter doesn't work for that dash-grab move of Ganondorf, fyi.

And if I use multiple characters within a single match?

Regardless, I'm firmly against the idea.

You would think that dash-grab move would be different, but I guess not.

Ok, one more negative on the idea and it get's nix'd.

edit: nvm, saw 2 [+] on Nightfyre's post, so it's nix'd.
