What I get from LG long post is he wants to make America great again. I don't see anything in his post that even hints at ISIS...but that is me!

He is right about our liberties being destroyed year by year. The government is supposed to protect our freedoms not take them away...

I don't know just because LG can say things that are off the wall doesn't mean he is incorrect. I find a lot of good in his posts actually.

I've casually considered how the world might be better if some people's mothers had a more liberal view of abortion.

But in fairness, I've wondered that about my own mother, too. No one else is avoiding my hypothetical musings if I myself can't escape them.

There's a big difference between wanting America to scale back some of it's ridiculous laws and calling Democracy something imposed upon us by Republicans and Democrats.

The profit motive behind virtually everything is the greatest threat to the country of date. When you can influence politicians with unlimited money, buy media and shape opinions that can push the country into adopting stances that create huge windfalls for corporations then you've ceased to be a Democracy and have entered proper Oligarchy.

The idea that we can somehow just return to Revolutionary America, which had its own problems I might add, is patently ridiculous. Talking about Patrick Henry, the Founders and other key Revolutionary figures like they're gods is also ridiculous. They existed within their time periods, bound by their limitations.

The country has changed. The world has changed. And all that really matters is how you react to the changes. You can wax nostalgic or you can start making moves to fix the problems we have.
