Unfortunately if you look back through FF since SE took over, its actually pretty shocking the kind of behaviour they are promoting. I recently watched a review of FF10 which I refuse to play coz apparently it sucks, but if you look at the outfits Rikku is wearing and then consider that she is supposed to be a 15y/o girl, you are effectively being encouraged to perve on underage girls. Now I don't know much about japanese law, but I can't imagine it's any more acceptable to behave like that over there than it is here. It's kind of a give and take scenario. For example, child pornography is obviously illegal, but drawings of it aren't. IMO the only reason they aren't is to keep pedophiles at bay with something to vent off of. Otherwise they'd most likely be taking action out in the streets.
Obviously chatrooms are a whole nother story. While I don't condone it, I feel it's the lesser of two evils to let them have their way harmlessly than have them resort to the worse. Did anyone even care about the main topic? Like really is there a right way to discuss this? It's just not the place for it, and it's already gone from "OMG NO PEDO" to "RESPECT WOMEN FOO".
