Actually npc lvling is easy, but starts to suck once they hit 60ish. more you call them out and do the their quests, the longer they stay out.

I recently hit 61 on mine, but man did he lvl fast in Crawler's Nest. I got mine as a good farming buddy. Nothing like soothing healer to back my BLM ^^.
