Funny how Rap fans don't go into other genre threads and trash them, but the second Rap gets a thread...

Y'all are funny.

I noticed that too.

It's in real life, too.
People that listen to Rap just leave other genres alone.

But people that don't like Rap feel the need to talk about those who listen to it.

I don't listen to much Rap anymore, but I would definitely say Eminem and Ludacris because they're funny and can still spit some real ***.

There have been countless Rock threads. I remember a techno/dance one too, but that was awhile ago.

And in my area, many people actually don't listen to many different genres. Mostly Rap/Hip-hop/R&B. Sure they can tolerate others (tolerate =/= like), but if they have a choice, it'll be Lil Wayne over 3 Doors Down.

Techno threads rock threads I posted in both not a huge fan but I never bashed and had a couple of favourites there too.

In 2009 Rap was the second-most listened to genre in the country (USA). Rock being first.

the generalization that "rap is simply talking over a beat" is a totally unsubstantiated and passe claim in this day and age. if you are referring to "old school" then ok, somewhat. with that said there is plenty of terrible rap music, much like any genre of music. there are awful rappers that hit the mainstream because people like to dance to their music. anybody who is really into the music has looked passed the mainstream since the mid to late 90's. ***i love rap but i'm also way into punk and metal. no way in hell i would dispute somebody saying "rap is gay" because that's opinion. even if i don't agree there is no point in arguing opinions, we all have them and we all stand by them. but to say rap isn't music and try to back that up with facts, that we can dispute.

Tech N9ne, Mac Dre, Andre Nickatina, and Dr Dre. Just to name a few.

Public Enemy, Wu-Tang (if these are even rap..not sure), and Eminem. Other than these...I *** hate rap..

They're definitely rap.
