If you dont want an elitest to correct you, dont say "Ive never been out parsed" "I DONT need this" so on and so forth. You want to make abold statement that is 100% wrong.. then.. expect to be corrected. I can punch a wall with my bare knuckles and not bleed. I am L33T
First, as a disclaimer, I don't even remotely feel my DRG gear is "leet." I know there are a lot of improvements that could be made (earrings/rings in WS sets, Askar body, neptunal ANYTHING...) that I just don't have the free time to devote to at the moment. Still, when I've parsed Limbus and Dynamis, I've done passably well, never #1 but usually in the top 15-20% of the pack. I'll consider that acceptable, given my gimp-ness.
Now, back to topic. Yes, there are some STUPID Drags out there lately. My guess is that they started leveling SAM, saw how much Hagun was going to cost, and switched to DRK. They started pulling too much hate, and decided they'd go for Dragoon because, hey, bird parties. And yes, most of the "good" gear for DRG is flat-out Rare/Ex, and is not a small time investment. Hell, I gave up on expansion gear because DRG isn't exactly one of the jobs you NEED to finish the story lines. Like I said, I can think of a lot of improvements my DRG needs, but I have no illusions of ever being a top-end DD. But there's some gear sets out there that make me cry. It's not that hard. Haste and some Acc for TP, primarily STR for WS, although throwing in a little DEX for your multihits will help with acc, damage on Penta, and Crit Rate on Drakesbane. Somewhat late to the party, but Lowblow, why the youmad over my ws set? I stated in the post itself that my drakes set needs work, i.e. there's better options than some of what I'm using there, but none of it is "silly".
Firstly, my Drakes set has 392 acc not including the acc bonus from light gorget which is around 10acc putting me at near acc cap on birds while using meat, as I mentioned two posts later, I use pizza on anything that matters so I'll still be capped. Secondly, the only real improvements to be made would be legs to Aurum Cuisses, Balrahn's Cuisses or Ares's Flanchard; Rutter Sabatons to Heca Feet and neck to Love Torque. Nothing of what I'm using doesn't make sense and all of what I'm using ups my ws dmg. I have no gil so my sets are pretty crappy (i also have no way of getting the ra/ex goodies i want)
my TP set. and my drakesbane set. There is so much more i want for drg, but i have the feeling i'll never get it >.< Not unless i toss away RL and view ffxi as more important than survival. Gotta ask first, why is this still being bumped?
Secondly there Vonn, why do you have an HQ amemet in your TP set, but NQ in your WS set? Also, there's gotta be something you can get for your hands other than Dusk. Even some damn Tarasque Mitts +1 or something. NQ if you're absolutely broke. I don't feel like going into how to improve every slot, so I'll give this one tip: Don't swap brutal->minuet for WS. NQ if you're absolutely broke. lol cause i forgot to add the "+1" when i was setting it up. thanks, i'll fix it. and as for the dusk gloves, do you mean for WS? the haste is what i want for melee, but for ws i WANTED hecatomb mittens, however my sky LS broke before i could get them >.< i have been holding out for something with decent str/dex for drakesbane. oh god how did i get here i am not good with computer

Gear it like a WS basically, enough acc to cap then damage all the way. Lots of STR and attack, VIT for Jump but not High Jump (Bibiki Seashell gogo). DA's usually a good stat to throw on if you can get some since it makes you WS more and you get to go HORY ***EPEEN JUMPZ! |
