If you don't mind me prying further, what is your annual income?

Actually, we sign a form saying we cannot discuss our salary ever. But since you dont actually know my name, i make less than 25k a year.

I have 1 son.

I only ask because I tend to find that people who make comments such as yourself tend to be in the lowest part of the tax bracket paying the least (if anything) to social programs.

Which comments do you speak of?

Damn that seems kinda low for that. Min wage full time up here is like 18k and like phone rep starts at almost 20k

Yeah, I know. It is entry level though. I gear yearly and performance raises. I have already been told I will become a supervisor next year. That should put me in that average range for my field :D

What so you can say omg you only think that because you make so much? Yes it makes sense that people would not want to pay for others healthcare. While we are on the subject of necessary for life and deserve what about food water and shelter? All of those are much more vital to life. Should we just hand that out to everyone and force those with jobs to pay for it?
Actually we already do. You can get free housing and food from the government and it doesnt take much. Sad sad thing too.
Sorta but it's not the same thing. Requirements and you kinda actually got to work for it and it really doesn't drain the economy that much. I mean this isn't exactly good housing/food lol. But yeah my mom has been living off the government for years and I certainly don't approve

usually happens with people who also grew up poor, my mom and dad grew up poor too so they tried their best to give me everything i wanted/needed and more than that as i grew up, i was an only child too.

I just want to give my son lot's of love and mostly attention. but i also want to spoil him :B it's just natural with the first child....

I guess you could say I am not middle class but kinda right on the cusp. I pay extra to charity every month, volunteer places, pay a very large percentage of my income. Actually Obama lowered how much I have to pay each month. But I pay in extra every month. .

I make ends meet. You think i would complain that I need more money and free care but I pay for it.

Elderly and disabled need these kinda programs. If you are healthy and capable you should work for government assistance.

If they were working for it, you do realize the government would have to pay more for assistance. To my knowledge any assistance given at this point is less than a full time minimum wage job.

Ok tried back reading one page too blah to care.

@ Jaerik You are correct and I was also going off what the tour guide told me on my second day there since I took a tour of the island.

Just like many races this can boil down to why a lot of JP also don't like NA on FFXI. A lot of it is how a race in general presents ourselves. I got a long with a lot of JP overseas becuase I didn't treat them like ***. It took a while for them to gain my trust but overall they realized I wasn't like a lot of Americans that went over there and made asshats of themselves. I would ask about things and try to learn their culture and beliefs.

For example: A LOT of Americans would just ram their eating utensils back in their food when finished. That is a no-no in their culture seeming that pays tribute to the deceased *normally they don't eat off the plate though* and is considered very disrespectful. Well, there is just a lot of things but :P oh well.

Also about income. I grew up poor as ***. No cable, no cell phone, no internet, well hell not even a phone. [insert stereotypical trailer trash comment here] because I did grow up in a trailer park. It was all my mom could afford as a single mother. And, we were on assistance but back then we got taken off because she "made too much." But, 14 years later when I try. OH HOT DAMN. I got programs thrown at me. Back then it was a lot harder to get on. Now, well, at least around here anyone and their dog can get assistance if they want too. I still struggle but nothing like she did. But, my child comes first. If I need too FFXI and the internet will be the first thing to go and cable TV. It is nice. But not needed.

Too bad so many elderly and disabled can't get them. The average wait for most disabled people to even get approved for benefits is 2+ years. After that, another 2 years for healthcare.

Roxanna is right. My son is disabled and they *as in every program that helps him* told me good luck getting benefits they are denying EVERYONE. That is why I have proof of everything. That is why SSI told me that them just taking out the sac that held his spinal cord fixed him. Ehhhh he still has no spine. So ya.

Disability will deny everyone. Good luck :)

I understand that. My question still stands. In a time of such high unemployment numbers (which doesn't even take into account the people that don't want to work), I'm just curious as to what jobs you'd have them do. Also I don't know how you find these healthy people getting free money, to my knowledge you can't get assistance without children in need of it, or being disabled.

Yeah I appealed his too. Spina Bifida That is the disability my son has. Myelomeningocele is his type ranging from Lumbar 1-3 and part of his Sacral region of his spine on top of the SB he has hydrocephalus which resulted and is a common add on with SB *for the people that don't wanna look it up he had too much pressure on his brain*

With clubbed feet on top of that he wears orthopedics atm. I'm optimistic for him I'm not fully sure about his bowel control yet I haven't got him into a SB urologist he does that next month.

I just know to keep everything and keep appealing.

I wish you luck though Roxanna!

Sorry everyone, I am not a reactionary person. I think about my decisions. I do not want a series of laws that are only established in a recession. When jobs are plentiful, like a few years ago, I dont want reactionary laws that still make it so people can live with doing nothing.

I stated earlier, if you have been laid off because of the recession then you are still/were still trying to work. Any government program should be extended to anyone who is trying.
