same accuracy

The attack difference is 18 so about 4.5% damage (likely to be only relevant on melee since you can use the same body for WS) in favor to shura, but aurore has 1 more fstr which weakens this advantage by 1.5% => 3% advantage for shura on melee dot. This should be ~ 1.8% global increase.

On the other hand DA+2% is generally 2% increase in all your damage (except when using oAT weapons like magians ones)

So aurore doublet will generally be better for TP (slightly). Note that you might want to WS in shura body for a lot of things though.

How do you figure 2% DA is a 2% increase in overall damage?

you do about 2% more melee damage and do weaponskill 2% more frequently.

I'm no MNK, but I was just discussing this (well, similar) with a MNK friend and I'm curious. How does 5/5 Aurore match up against a Mix/Match set outside Salvage gear?

Like I said, I'm no MNK; so these sets may be a little off, but they're pretty close to how I'd be aiming to gear as a MNK.

Mix & Match

Haste +25%
Store TP +6
Accuracy +32
Attack +59
DEX+19
STR+12

Delay per hit (round) = 4.4sec
11 hits (rounds) -> 100%
48.4sec total -> 100%
90.2% Accuracy with Marinara Pizza

5/5 Aurore

Haste +23%
Store TP +14
Accuracy +39
Attack +17
DEX+17
STR+20

Delay per hit (round) = 4.5sec
10 hits (rounds) -> 100%
45sec total -> 100%
93.5% Accuracy with Marinara Pizza

I've been told MNK shouldn't really use 5/5 Aurore, but aside from the -42 attack, I can't really see why. Surely knocking off 4.5 seconds per WS would be better than hitting a little harder each swing, right?

Attack is capped by the amount of str you got anyway :/ acc > attack anyway, more acc and full attack food > attack and acc food..

Not a mnk, and I dunno about ws/tp splits, but 2% haste is kind of a big deal.

Actually going to be lower than 2% if subbing war or using Brutal.

Id say juogi all the way xD, attack is like anything else in ffxi... it increases the chance of hitting the higher end of your damage curve... stacking attack doesnt nesisarily mean youl hit high dmg :(, iv seen my mnk friend remove 54 attack and his dmg wasnt effected in the slightest... on the other hand if you crit of dbl attack stack, tht DOES make a diff, a huge one at that xD

First set is comfortable better (mainly attack & haste) but the second set on the other hand is infinitely easier to get (except black belt) because it costs ... 115k lol.

Yeah, I can strip naked in Dynamis (Turban/Shura/MeleeGloves/Byakko/Fuma keep rings/ammo and such on) and generally I still see about the same numbers as I do with it all on...

Also.... Galka in Pink doesn't look too amazing...

Uh, why are you comparing full aurore to the normally used set? He meant Aurore vs Shura only in the body slot, lol at even thinking about gimping yourself with full aurore.

The correct answer is

With footwork. Assuming 70 base dex, 95% accuracy with marinara pizza +1
(with sniper's ring +1 or toreador's you can change tiphia to thew bomblet)

Not sure what the haste value on Usu pants/Poise are exactly, but Tiercel would have to be adding .5-6 Haste to beat adding fStr to neck slot I think

afaik Tiercel only gives .39% haste when you're wearing full usu

.29 with full usu. I just don't have anything to reference for the haste on the pants standalone.
