Is it bad that I decide what region to quest in based solely on how easy or hard it is to navigate their main city?
Norn area? Easy.
Black Citadel? WTF is that place a half constructed death star?!?! Lost all the time!
maybe I just havent played that many different mmos but why the *** do non FF ones still make you create a new character to play different jobs? what is the point of this, instant turn off for me ontop of the "kill 50 spiders, but instead of "50" its a progress bar"
idk what the hype is I dont really like this game, and what is the endgame? is it just pvp? are there dungeons or hnm like stuff for pve groups?
Haven't leveled much since I wasted 2 days. Driving back to college and having classes today.
But im loving thief.
LV.22 soi fon kicking *** with dual pistols and daggers.

I agree, having to create a new char per job/class you want to play is so lame. The worst is having to farm gear on your new, undergeared alt. Why can't you transfer all gear between all your chars, so you can farm on your main and don't have to be gimp mc gimperson? At least gear all has the same stats at max level in GW2, and the only thing that matters is looks, so yay!
Not many people playing elementalist here? Haven't seen much talk about it..
End game is PVE and PVP. If you have followed the updates on this game, there are massive enemies to do battle with that are available to do as world events.
The whole job thing having to create a new character does kinda suck, but at the same time you learn to specialize that class and create different builds with it too.
Also, each class has a different look and feel too it, not just a slight change of armor.
REALLY tempted to play GW2. I went from FFXI (Would go back if state of game was rolled to when it was capped at 75) to WoW, which got boring as *** after 3 years, and now I'm wanting another MMO to play.
Kicking some major *** now as a dual-wield pistol thief + Short bow. Sitting between a spot that has 3 active events. Making awesome XP. Should hit 20 soon.

I don't know whether you're being sarcastic, but there's a shared bank in GW2. You can farm for a low level alt.

So been peeking in various GW2 forums and have heard largely great things on it. Honeymoon phase justifications of 60 bucks spent or are we looking at an amazing game here? What are the current pros/cons?
I agree- I can be incredibly indecisive when it comes to making permanent (job class) or semi-permanent decisions (extremely large time investments, like relics).
Given that this is F2P (and seemingly not PTW?), I would consider giving this a try- if I had a computer that could run it >__>;
GW1 has been F2P since its inception and it's never been P2W. Closest it gets is letting you buy skills instead of having to learn them from NPCs and ***, and thats just for your pvp characters that you dont want to bother bringing through PvE really.
Pre-ordered GW2... have yet to play because when I did the beta I ran into a Farmville MMO that scarred me for life...
They make it so monsters give exp or is it sill farmville to lvl up and random "You can learn a skill now!" npc/quests? Really missing the old GW way of things -.-;;

You can... The bank is account based, not character..

Monsters have always given exp.. even in all the beta weekends..
Currently on DarkHaven but really unimpressed by playing alone in it. Granted I've yet to hit level10 on any character due to my chronic Alt-itis but it doesn't help that after 1-2 hours I just close it out of "blahh".
But my current "top" is Zeuberlich, an Asura Elementalist. She's so cute!
I have an elementalist, its fun, but also a little annoying at early levels....
unlike other classes, Elems dont have access to the [`] weapon switch, mainly because they have access to 4 skillsets per weapon?
this is somewhat annoying, skilling up a weapon 4 times to unlock the skillset, much more annoying doing so for underwater weapons....
and seems i tend to die twice as much on elementalist than with my ranger and mesmer combined :/

If you mean those 'helping around the farm' type of events with no combat, you'll see those get phased out after you move from the low-level areas. I think they're mainly just for learning and getting used to the controls.
Yeah, I get beat up pretty bad on her. I adore my Mesmer but I have -no- idea what I'm doing on her. :( The only friend who plays GW2 is already level30 and plays with his wife soo...
Blah!
is there even an MMO besides FFXI and FFXIV that lets you change jobs on the fly? ._. lol
Yup, there are a few F2P MMO's out there that allow it. Eden Eternal is the first that comes to mind. They actually make it worthwhile to level every class too; every level you get gives you additional points in an area that permanently increases your hp/mp/atk/matk in a tier system.

dont you have to pay gems to access it? lol
nope. The bank is accessible/shared to all your account characters, it is even available at crafting tables, also, there is a collectible (crafting material) special tab, where you can toss all craft mats in(deposit from anywhere, but can only withdraw at a bank-craft table) so it does not take valuable bank slots. both are shared between characters. you do have to pay via gems to expand it tho, but gems can also be obtained by trading gold-silver coins instead of real money.
I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
