Is it up yet? :x i can't tell since i always time out -_-
Nope, pool is closed for maintenance. Apparently someone crapped in it.
It's not supposed to be up for an hour and 10 mins I think.
Not to be rude but how do you know? If thats the case I can go finish the football game with out interruption.
Because that's what the notice in game said. It was announced about 2 hours before maintenance actually started. It said 17:00-21:00 which is 5-9pm. I mean it's always subject to change. I should note that it did start at 5:00 my time and it's only 8:00 now. But like I said it could change you never know with them :)
Sorry was not trying to be rude. I just got on and then the servers said to sign off, so I did not see the time at all. First time since I have been playing that I had to wait for a server.

No problem, they should put that info up somewhere instead of announcing it once hours before maintenance.

Edit: lol I guess they did put it up on the test website.

From 17:00 to 21:00 (PDT) on Sep. 9, 2010, we will be performing maintenance on FINAL FANTASY XIV. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XIV will be unavailable.
* The Beta Test Site will still be available.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I was looking all over the forums for an answer too. Their official "World Status" is a world of nonsense. That, or I just did not look good enough.

I'm upgrading around christmas. My current rig is...

CPU: Intel Core Quad CPU Q6600 ~3.2GHz
RAM: 4Gb
Video: ATI Radeon HD 4890
Mobo: ASUS P5Q Pro

I want to build an i7 rig, and possibly get another 4890 to run in crossfire.

Another 4Gb of ram too. and a new HUGE case.

Should run me about £600.

Are you over clocking your Q6600?

What is your GPU?
Yeah, to 3.2.

ATI 4890

4th best card in the world currently iirc.
What PSU are you pimpn?

I got it when it was cheap though. Still looking to upgrade into an i7 though, I kinda feel locked into socket 775 with this setup.

For those already ingame and "well versed" with things:

I've started in Limsa, leveled most jobs to 4 or 5 already, and personal level is like 13 or so...

I did the levequests from the people located in the inn, but it won't let us accept any new ones.

Our Regional Quest log shows 8/8 and when we try to exchange, it does nothing..

Is this working as intended or is there something my group is not understanding here?

Example: We have done the 4 quests for Bearded Rock and 4 quests for Botany (mining and logging) but it won't let us add any for Skull Valley.

It's puzzling and ridiculous :P

More than 3 days?
Do they auto clear from the list?
Do I get more than 8?

PS- they are all completed.

I think you can only have 8 at one time. The list refreshes after a certain period (I don't know the time). After which, all of your Leves become active again and you can either repeat them, or trade them for new ones.

Man, I just failed Annexing the Valley, cause the stupid targets wouldn't spawn. I was putting on such a good show too, nothing is more awesome than icing 3 monsters with 1 Skewer buffed with Ferocity and Raging Strike.

Lancer solo is a hell of a lot of fun, Heavy thrust bind keeps most critters out of range, though because of animation, sometimes you drift inward.

One thing I hear a lot of complaints about is people getting whooped by "Green" monsters, now granted, some of that is the failfists check system, but a lot of it is just personal stupidity. You really need to equip your character with proper rank and "Favor" items. A Hempen Scarf gives 80% more benefit to my lancer than a Laun Halfmask, even though the halfmask is rated at more than triple the Defense/evasion/ect values. It made a huge difference when I changed all my equip to rank and class appropriate goodies. Think of it like level sync gear on steroids.

Guess I'll be starting in Limsa Lominsa in retail. I have tons of ores/shards, and can't do anything with them without Crystals/Smelting ><

Also: 3 Copper Ores + 1 Tin = 12 Copper Nuggets. I might be able to profit yet!

That's actually what happens in reality. Except since it's not a smooth animation, it looks like total ***on FFXIV.

I'm having a difficult time at Camp Emerald Moss =\. My friend and I will do a guildleve on solo difficulty but we have to get through an army of Lone Wolfs on the way LOL. When we finally get to the location on the map and kill most of the mobs for the objective and then one runs away... past more Lone Wolfs. We lost all of our guildleves tonight it's pretty frustrating/funny.

We're both rank 11 mind you and we've seen a lot of other people die numerous times trying to get by. I wonder if they will fix this =o It worries me that the game is less than two weeks away...!

All you pugs on Trabia better appreciate what I'm doing to get to where I can make a newer/better weapon <_<

Also, wondering if I might be able to make these instead of the bronze ones.. Both use the same leather, so maybe I can make these instead..

http://ffxiv.zam.com/en/item.html?ffxivitem=4020009

Bronze Knuckles seem to have higher starts. But on other hand one is lvl 9 and other is lvl 13

Ahh, okay.. Not sure why, but somehow I got it in my head that it was the otherway around and that the bronze knuckles was the weaker of the two.

Not sure what that has to do with performance marking. Not an expert.

Well, you are right, I mean the numbers alone obviously make the 295 worthy of 5th, if this is just a generic list.

41. Geforce 8800GTS 512MB (G92)

Yay me...

The video card selections drop tremendously when you look at DX11 onry. Speaking in both general terms and FFXIV specific, how much of an impact does DX11 make?
