Don't worry, I'm done replying to Tou 8)

As for Krizz, waiting for you to explain how me saying DX11 is the future means nothing~
I'm done discussing this with you. Your opinion is the only one that you will agree with. Everything else won't make sense or something. See your above discussion with Tou. I don't have the time, patience, or desire to deal with that.

What's your price range? lol

Man Newegg is terrible to navigate. Good ol' Google.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127510

This is what I was looking at.

There are cheaper versions but I'd prefer MSI as I've used their gear before I know I like them.
This is the one I've kept on my compare list so I don't lose track of it. It's more than I want to spend on a single video card though.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125334

Edit:
I'm gradually going up in price as I search. So far the best video card under $100 is this 240.
If this link works, this is where I'm at right now. This is Nvidia onry though. That's pretty much what I see my options as for different price ranges.

OK whatever you say. Even Kal is easier to discuss things with than you. Later~

Short version: I doubt I'll play anything in the near future that requires DX11 to be playable and look ok.

Not sure what you're specifically looking for, but here's a couple that look nice:

First

Second

They're not amazing, but incredibly affordable, in my opinion.

Quote:
As for us picking at each other personally, I expect the same things of you. In the examples you brought up of what I might have judged you on, those were good because they are perfect examples of you not responding to my posts with anything but stuff that could be taken as insults. I'm sure you will say that's just my opinion, but then that'll be you trying to impose your system of beliefs on me again.

HOLY CRAP! I'm a chauvinist, racist pig because I said something "someone could take offensive" on the internet in a joking matter!

ZOMG! I'm such a horrible horrible person! /handslap

BAD TOU! BAD TOU!

Question.. If you pick up 5 crafting leves, and you lose connection (before you make the items) are they all failed?

I got 5, then went to go start, got to the first person, got the mats and was just about ot start synthesis when my internet crapped out (again)..

Did I just lose all 5? -.-;;;

Nope. That's why I've been only doing crafting leves lately.

240 is only DX10 though mate, if your card is already DX10 (tell me what you're using) then this might only be a side-grade.

Trust me, everything I'm looking at is an upgrade to what I have. I'd have to check my desktops at home to get the exact models.

Edit: Think they both rank under 100 on that ranking list from overclock.net.

Edit2: And they both only have 256MB memory, IIRC.

Edit3: Used TeamViewer to remote in. One of them has Geforce 6800XT in it.

Wiki says the 6000 series is DX9 only, so even a 8000 series would be an improvement :)

However, having said that, don't be toooo cheap; you may find yourself wanting to upgrade further, so skip the 8000 series.

I would look at the late 9000s (9800~) and late 200 range (240, 250, 260, 280).

My list so far.

Rank Model Price
17 GTX 460 169.99
33 GTS 250 149.99
34 HD4850 119.99
43 9800GT 104.99
51 GT 240 89.99

If I was only upgrading one video card, I would get the 460 in a heartbeat. Maybe I shouldn't upgrade the second desktop until I know that the wife will play for sure.... Ugh, I hate dealing with video cards. This is why mine are so currently outdated.

Ya those are some nice cards but I would suggest u hold off buying till at least official release so u would get better idea of the systems specs needed to run game. I myself will stick with my p4 till maybe Christmas so they will have time to work out all the bugs LOL

I'm trying to have my computers upgraded (processor, video card, and mobos) by release.

That last update broke my ffxivgame.exe... :( at first i was getting an appcrash error so i restarted, and now when i hit play, nothing happens, i dont see ffxivgame.exe in the process list. I'm thinking i'll have to re-install, conveniently there is no un-install in "programs and features" or start menu shortcuts. I'm wondering if the best way to do this is to download the install manager and run it, or delete the program files folder.... /cry lol
