This is what I like to see. Entirely new armour sets and not a re-colour.

I would have liked to see the sets displayed on both male and female characters.
I think my favourite out of the lot has got to be the BST set, I may have to level that job now just for the armour. Awesome! I really like the BLU, PUP, and COR gear.
Also, doesn't BST look like it has a small Ultralisk on it's head? Good...maybe I can finally stop seeing noobs in full pinky-pink, perle, or teal outfits.
Lets just hope salvage gear is not dead...

I like the way the NIN looks and WHM is pretty cool also. Not so sure about RDM yet, maybe it'll grow on me. With how limited my inventory is I think I can only afford room for one job though. BST it is. Inb4 each piece costing 1,000,000 cruor.
Edit: And having trials that are something like "Get hurricane winged 700 times" Heads, legs, and feet will be equip-able by the level 85 cap, so it would seem the remaining two pieces (hands, body) should be 86-90ish.
That at least leaves some room for some high-end 95-99 R/E (or hopefully R/E with crafted components) gear item options, too. I like how they showed an Amphiptere, Corse and Iratham in the trailer. The mobs that took months to appear (and Iratham hasn't even yet) in Visions. And how they referred to the events that caused Abyssea as the Cataclysm on the bestiary page, oh SE, if only you could reskin a zone that well.
hell i just hope your average joe can get these... they showed off those fancy weapons last time.. and still nobody has yet to get one... i think. i honestly think that for the most part. this is one of those items that's out there and probably won't be obtained by ANYONE for months to come. looks nice tho
I'd imagine that it will be similar to upgrade to emp weaps. Cept rather than just plucking the base item out of a chest you will have to get it from the new abyssea zones. Also, they will probably look like ugly standard gear until the final upgrade.
My 3 favorite armors I saw are: SAM > PLD > DRK. I reeeally hope it's not too easy or too hard to get these... I know af1 was a *** at the time (at 50DRK *cough*). But I also remember when af1 was the gear to wear back in the day. lol I wonder if these will have some good stats?
As if PUP didn't get LOLed at enough. zOMG! I can't wait to be the laughing stock in my LS! WOOT! 8P I better start practicing my one-liners for my new jester-hat.
Edit: I seriously cannot stop laughing everytime I look at it! Wow, this is gonna be fun! <3

I've heard a few people (Lifer PUPs) say they like the new PUP gear.
What I want to know is what people like about it? To me, it looks like Harley Quinn had a few too many drinks and knocked up a New York Taxi Cab, then stole the goggles from a Gnome Engineer or something. It looks absolutely ridiculous! Like people didn't dis-respect you guys as it was. XD Most of the new helms look great. It's good that they're all new sets, though some feel kinda cheap (SCH gets a new...floppy thingy for the head, for example). Not that I'm complaining about new gear...just, as always, the graphic design team for FFXI. They're questionable sometimes. Lifer pup myself, and i just love it. the oginal set is a jesters outfit, bright and colorful to bring he entertainer feel of the job to life. this is just taking it to a new level, making you look like a court Jester. what isn't to like?
