D2010.09.06.2000 always gives me an update error at 99.6% percent completed when installing the update, not just downloading it. Soo....wtf?

Mines working perfectly.
Are you using the official client to download?
If so, stop. Head to your "\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads" and open the torrent for the file you want.

It's not on the download, it's on the update itself. y'know, when it says Final Fantasy XIV updater

Mine had that error too. Just keep restarting it and eventually it'll kick in. I cancelled my download and restarted a few times also.

I had to do the same as well. Then I put in my password wrong when it finished and I tried to restart it so I can log in and keeps freezing. I heard the server crashed so that may be why....
