By that, I mean their ruins.
after the country was finally overrun by the combined efforts of the Beastmen and the Far East, the empire's remnants fled. Scattering into the land was not possible, and only the citizens that adapted the nautical knowledge of Ephramad's Corsairs were able to take it to the sea. Managing to settle in a mysterious continent, their very distant descendants would later establish what we now know today as Limsa Lominsa.
*** I just read that in Ron Perlman's voice... most times i read everything in Christopher Walken's voice
Ron Perlman is the guy who made "War... War never changes..." famous. Christopher Walken is the guy who made.... everything famous
yaya, I know who he is.
NIN Edit:
This thread needs more cowbell... Gotta have more cowbell.

War. War never changes.
The Zilart waged war to gather slaves and wealth. Aht Urghan built an empire from its lust for gil and territory. The Shadow Lord shaped a scattered Beastmen force into an demonic superpower.
But war never changes.
War was still waged over the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of war were also its weapons: abyssite. For these resources, Bastok would invade San d'Oria, Jeuno would annex Selbina, and the Windustian Federation would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining resources on Vana'diel.
In C.E. 1318, the storm of world war had come again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of Tu'Lia's meltdown, a new civilization would struggle to arise.
A few were able to reach the relative safety of the large underground crystal complexes. Your ancestors were part of that group that entered Complex Fourteen. Imprisoned safely behind the large crystalline door, under a mountain of stone, thousands of generations has lived without knowledge of the outside world.
Life in Eorzea is about to change.
It's no cowbell but it's close.

All of Sky for sure. They're still my favorite zones, especially the glass walkways that you can see the clouds below you through :D

I don't particularly like any FFXI zone, so none..
Besides one of the reasons I'm quitting FFXI is because I'm tired of it, last thing I want to see is an FFXI zone in FFXIV..
Having said that, if it had to have a FFXI zone, I'd choose Valkurm Dunes..

I'd have to say the whole Li'Telor region. It's my favorite area.

All CoP areas were cool. Except those damn sewers... I hate them.
This might seem like an odd question, and I know that FFXIV is in no way the official sequel to FFXI... but there are some zones that are in FFXI I hope to see put in FFXIV.
For me, the main zone would be Norg. I love the theme and atmosphere of that zone, and think it would be awesome if there was an area like that. Quite honestly I hope there are a lot of FFXI influenced zones in FFXIV, because frankly I would have been set with an updated HD FFXI.
What about you?
