I don't play DRK a ton, but I'd like to play it more as I find it to be a fun job. I've never been a fan of scythe, but like Great Sword, and therefore have always used that as my weapon of choice. Recently I've been looking at magian weapons for DRK, and thought the STP+ one looked both useful and easy to obtain.

My question is, would using the below gear be ridiculous, even though it would give me a 6-hit? (I have a thick skin, so you can be critical).

Your Acc with that set would be terrible and you'd have one of the slowest builds out there.

I dunno, with the earlier posted set (which is horrible... but meh), FFXIcalc shows 466 accuracy.

I'd love to see a parse of a perfect Caladbolg (Espafut +1) vs an Apoc. I'd really love to.
(For reference, Torcleaver is on par with Fudo, where Cata does less than 1/2 of the damage....)

I'm probably going to build the greatsword empyrean this year. You can't compare WSs anyways, apocalypse is 70% melee damage.

Except that Caladbolg has 30% ODD, and is greatly boosted by razed ruins.

I know you're just trying to troll me, but I don't really care if its better or not lol. I'm kind of glad that there is a greatsword that doesnt suck now. I always prefered greatsword over scythe.

Oh, I thought you were being serious...
I used to prefer Scythe over G.Sword myself, until I saw the numbers dealt by Torcleaver and Quietus.

I'd probably build redemption if I didn't have apocalypose. However, since I already have the 2nd best scythe and not a good greatsword I think I'd be better off with the GS.

Well... Redemption requires chloris buds (that's a big slap in the face), meanwhile Caladbolg requires exactly the same Masamune items.

How long do they typically take to make?

A couple weeks? thats it? o.O

I know Cirein Croin or w/e is a joke, I could solo him on RDM w/ little to no difficulty.

But whats your typical strat for Carabosse? I know the pops are pretty easy to get.

I haven't low manned Carabosse yet, but I believe someone posted a good strat for her a while ago.
You can see it here.
