Being told how to play my job by the guy that can't quite get past maat on his chosen job. Don't think he had the job even unlocked, and if he did, it wasn't submaxed. That just wouldn't be his style, woulda stopped it at 35 or so. Pretty much, the special guy that you shouldn't listen to even if they had taken the job to 75. I hate stupid people...
(Edited a few times, every time I thought I was done I'd start a rant then have to fix something)

What grinds my gears are people who have to agree with a whole set of ideas, just because of where 1 of the ideas they agree with lies.
Example being Democrats and Republicans. Even if you're affiliated within a party, it doesn't mean you have to agree with every idea they pump out.
Environment, same difference. Ok, you like the 'Green' movement, but electricity HAS helped us. Ok, you don't believe in global warming, it doesn't mean we can't *** the ***out of the planet.
I just wish people would treat every situation with seriousness and logic, rather than hopping on the goddamn bandwagon of an idea they may not totally agree with and believe it because "their" group does.
/rant off
weeeeeeeee :x Go tell that to your senator and congress person.

That or learn to lie better, "The dog ate my keyboard while i was exping in Crawler's Nest" doesnt really cut it anymore.

People who don't keep a respectable buffer.
xxx falls to level 74.
Yeah, good job. Spend god knows how many hours meritting your jobs and getting powerful gear for them but not an hour or so getting a decent buffer.
Just irks me.

Just irks me. Maybe they don't have time to do events, cap buffer, and everything else they want to? It happens sometimes.

Just irks me. Im sure they are more 'irked' than you about it... maybe they just got 75 and were called to come help with something? try looking at it a different way

Oh, I can understand that. It's people who have had the job at 75 for a very long time and still constantly delevel out of it nearly every time they bring it out to the field. Should definitely devote some time to staying 75 if you can.

Friends that use your last charge on your San d'Oria Chocobo Stables collar. Being from Bastok that was one of my prized possessions. I did give him permission to use my character for TH3, but c'mon.

Excuse me while I open the flood gate to a bunch of flaming comments but, here we go:
Cookie cutter players. The ones who have absolutely no ability to think beyond the character guides on wikipedia or the other FFXI sites. Worse still are those same players who look down on people who are actually willing to try something outside of the guide. Who cares if you don't have the perfect haste, dd, mp, heal, or whatever type of build for your character and job?
This is a game, and should be treated as such. It's a shame that a world created for the enjoyment of its players can so easily become more stressful than world we really live in.
Someone else summed it up nicely. I think they said they started too late in this game's life cycle, because so many treat this as a large math problem and not a game.

Wow...took less than 5 minutes to get my first negative post. [All right!]
There's a time and place for strategy, and a time when you should just enjoy and have fun.
...and if you do die during a KSNM99, then shame on you for not being able to adapt to a less than perfect situation.

Relating to Jacinda's post, what grinds my gears is anyone in the game who has an overbearing sense of pride/know-it-all attitude or otherwise what would be a clear sign of a superiority complex disorder and is used in a condescending manner to alienate and criticize other players who aren't a clone of themselves.
I only wish they could see how embarrassing it is to act in such a way over a video game. Yeah, you're really king of the world for playing FFXI aren't you?

That was me, and I obviously agree. Just because someone doesn't wanna be adventurous and try new things, and pretty much just "follow the guide", doesn't mean other people should be ***on for giving new things a try.
Well, what grinds your gears? :P (Go go Family Guy reference!)
