What Grinds Your Gears?

I wouldn't own much of anything once I'm dead, whether or not I created it. Wills are typically the documentation that determine ownership of physical properties while copyright documentation on your works are typically left to whatever industry or company licensed you. But is it really so odd to for me to see a difference between a song you wrote, a book you writ, or a movie you directed as being different from a car, or house, or stereo player you left behind after your passing?

Aren't rights to said works typically sold to companies as a means of distribution and capital?

Yes lol... You probably own the car and the house... You probably don't own the song, book or movie... I don't think you understand that the creator doesn't always own the copywright and like I said when it comes to media that is most likely the case...

As I understand it the label you sign with owns it from the get go. Unless you write, market and distribute it yourself...

Edit: think of it like this... you work for a biochem firm and you come up with the cure for cancer... Will you be rewarded for it? yes! will you be famous for it? yes! will you own the formula you came up with? no! because you are under contract with the company you work for and they pay you to create things for them!

Anyhow. My close friend from middle school died two days ago, Rachel.
She was sickly, she was allergic to everything, one doctor thought she had lupus, another doctor had her on chemo. She got bit by a tick which caused her to be hospitalized for a few years (to which I say wt flying f) and she required stomach surgery. It nearly killed her and she had to be life-flighted to a different hospital. When they tried the surgery again she refused because she trusted God to take care of her. Guess what God? She's dead. Way to fail.

I am sorry Lila!! Today for me its liter bugs. I saw a guy drop a few things on the ground and start to walk away. I had the GF's kids with me and they said that is bad. I said you know what, your right. So I stopped him and told him to pick it up. He did,lol!!

well she's in a better place now and most likey not going to be allergic and sickly anymore. The only thing at times like this is remember the fun you shared with them while they were alive.

Inconsiderate drivers

This morning I almost had a car accident, I was on my way to school to drop off my son and this guy was about 40ft ahead of me was about to make a left turn (I was on the right lane) but he merges into my lane to do this wide turn that we almost collide if I didn’t swirl to the right. I scream and panic which also scared my son and my son was looking at me with these wide open eyes I almost started crying, had to pull over and relax for a bit. That got me really mad that I wanted to drive back and kick the guy in the balls.

Also

Drivers who at every stop signal feel the need to look at the mirror to put on make-up and/or check the phone and stay there for good 10 seconds when the signal is already green.

Drivers who are going 20mph on a 60mph zone: I find them being mostly people who don’t have a driving license, any license plates or just old people. Seriously, GTFO, that really grinds my gear. I’m driving at legal speed and once I get to that driver I need to almost come to a complete stop on a 60mph zone when there are no stop signs for miles. Why don’t I switch lanes you ask? Because the streets by my work are only 2-way streets and there is constant cars incoming. Honk? Well they just ignore me and go more slowly.

Drivers who double park: douche bags.

Drivers who don’t signal when turning: Really? Am I supposed to know when you’re making a turn in that split second?

Drivers who jump to the left lane “ONLY” to make a right turn when there is bumper-to-bumper traffic.

As a mother who only drivers to school, work and home, it annoys me and at same time scares me to know there are people that inconsiderate that willing endanger other drivers.

Sorry about my rant but that incident this morning got me boiled up.

The gobbiebag is way too small! It's impossible to carry everything I need and still be able to pick up loot.

Awhile back, I was griping and whining about my bloody (literally bloody, I'm not trying to swear politely this time xD) hands and I went off about how I wasn't mistreating them to cause it by sticking them in dish soap and on and on like the whiner I am inside. And someone, I so thought it was in this thread, told me that any liquid soap is harmful. So I thought what could it hurt to try? and switched to washing my hands with bar soap.


And it worked! Within two weeks or so of just using bar soap, with no changes to my lotion habits or weather changes, the condition cleared up on its own! Bless your brains, you're my hero of the day, whichever one of you clued me in and fixed me!

People who don't wipe down the equipment in the gym after there done. Barked at a dude yesterday and told him to wipe his sweat off. He did!!

When someone says anything along the lines of "give me an hour and I'll let you know one way or another" and one hour goes by, and nothing, then 2 hours goes by and nothing.. Eventually the whole night goes by and nothing.

I wipe down the equipment both before and after I use it. Can never be too safe, some slobs just use it and leave it.

When you need to sneeze but it just doesn't come out! And you stay with that waiting look on your face like an idiot for a minute hoping it'll come!

Oregon drivers.

I have a friend that does exactly this...I mean 90% of the time its because he's stoned and forgets. Still annoying when your waiting on them.

Yeah! And then they get all pissed off if you bring up whatever it was, they act like you've been constantly harassing them about it.. They usually say something stupid like "damn dude be patient I already told you I'd get back to you"..

Yeah.. but you also gave a time frame which you've neglected to honor.. I don't know if you forgot or if you're just an inconsiderate ***, so don't blame me if you set a time and don't stick to it.

For that matter, if you say you're going to be somewhere in an hour, be there in an hour.. I understand sometimes ***happens, but I have a friend who is always, 100% of the time late, and almost always by over an hour. The day he's on time is the day I start stock piling food and weapons, because the end of the world is close at hand.

I find that when someone is failing to use his/her turn signal, more than 75% of those instances I observe, the driver is ...

1. on his/her f*cking phone,
2. smoking a god-damned cigarette or cigar, and/or,
3. driving a luxury brand vehicle (Mercedes, Lexus, etc) or a "souped-up" pick-up truck (usually with ridiculously over-sized wheels)

So up yours, all you lazy rich snobs and country bumpkin/rednecks that smoke or blab on your cell phone while driving!! Pay attention, you boobs. You don't own the road.

I assume you haven't driven in L.A. I question those at the DMV who issued 98% of these peoples liscences.

What grinds my gears...? The fact that I just got threatened and GM'd in lower jeuno for skilling my enhancing magic. True story. Didn't go to jail, but damned if the GM didn't materialize in front of me and talked to the person bitching about my skilling up...

People at work who I have to listen *** about how their truck gets crap gas mileage, just replaced their brake pads a year ago, trans is slipping all the time, and they have to replace their $400 each tires every 10k miles when the tire says "50k miles". Yet the only drive city roads, never leaving the pavement, feel the need to go 0-65 as fast as they can in a 6000lb vehicle at each stop light just to rush to the next light and lock up their brakes then repeat it all over, and they run off-road tires year round in Las Vegas.

Out of the 30 or so guys I work with, 3 of them do this and when they get together I feel like I'm listening to Rosie O'Donnell try to convince us she is smarter at running a business than Donald Trump. They went on for at least half an hour today about this stuff ......
