Fishing 0-100

Currently attempting to level fishing 0-100. Right now I am level 14, and I fish the 200 cap every day to be able to get the max number of skill ups possible. Of all the guides I look at, the locations for catching fish vary greatly. Now I'm not quite sure if this is correct, but I remember my friend, who was leveling fishing at the time, telling me that it is possible to skill up in Nashmau catching Mercanbaligi and Ahtapots only. Is there any validity to this, and if so, is it a decent way to get from 1-???

Edit: I have a Lu Shang's Rod.

I know you can go 0-96 on Dil, Mercanbaligi and Ahtapots in Talacca cove. So I'm sure Nashmau would work too, but there are no Dil there.

catching them at your lvl is gonna be tough really, but I guess not impossible. its a lot easier to try to stay within 10-20 lvls of fish unless you get a fish bot and then it really does not matter. I tried going after the big fish like black sole, bream, dil, ect... at first but found it to tough to reel them in. Also plan on prolly 4 hours at least to reach fatigue. Fishing skill ups suck~

Kida's is an awesome use

I Started in Nashmau with a LuShangs at around 20, and it wasn't overly hard.
Fairly sure you could go there at your level.
I used one of the ferries to get from ~10-20

Best fishing site for FFXI. I just hit 100 recently and honestly i just recommend picking a fish from that list that is within 7-10 levels of your current level and go for it.

You'll still make money regardless although Nashmau was amazing money.

You'll want to do the fish ranking at all cost to snag some Pelican Rings that will assist with getting skillups... i got three 0.1 in a row off 1 fish with it once.

Be prepared to spend months leveling fishing, it took me around 2 months to go from 20 to 100 with constant pelican ring usage and hitting the 200 cap almost every single day. Lu Shangs is highly recommended otherwise you'll make it harder on yourself.. you'll see how if you don't get one. You'll make back the money easily.

Using kida's guide mostly until nashmau I got at 1.5-2 lvls a day all the way up. unless I was using pelican which doubled that.
