sorry... rate down, good parenting and bad parenting isn't always about "how" the punishment is doled out, its about whether or not the lesson is learned in a manner worthy of the lesson being learned. I truly think the kid got it through his head that he screwed up. Not every kid needs physical correction, and many people believe that physical correction is wrong, but in this case: 1: the punishment isn't permanent nor long lasting. A few welts from a belt go away probably by the time the kid went to sleep. He had pants on, cushioned a lot of the blows. 2: mental correction wasn't degrading to the kid, there were no slanderous name callings or major put downs. The kid actions were called stupid, the decision to post on facebook was stupid, but the uncle never went to town on him like i've seen some internet trolls do.
Was a good job imo.

If anything, the kid's pride got hurt a lot more than he did from the belt. And it was certainly well deserved based on the given circumstance.

XD true, on both accounts. I've gotten my *** kicked by my mom plenty of times, and yeah, the slaps kinda sting, but it's more like my ego that got the worst beating. Lesson learned.

My kids WILL behave, or they will lose the ability to sit down until they do. Go go good parenting, corporal punishment saves lives.

ninja edit: you can tell that parent did his job extremely well during the bringing up of that kid/man, the kid is as tall as the parent is yet he has so much fear struck in his bones that he still cant talk back, thumbs up dad, thumbs up. If every parent acted that way the world would be a better place.

I'm tempted to say something smart *** -ish here, but I rarely see Scragg post, so I don't know if he can hold back his /rage like Jaerik does. :P

Kids nowadays need this. Parental intervention. I got young cousins and brothers all on facebook like they all gang members listening to lil' wayne and all.. It sickens me to death.

Seeing that gave me flashbacks. My parents are West Indians so I gotten my *** beat back in the day.

On a sad note for the kid is he'll end up being punked around in school by his peers and that girls will not want to date him. I applaud the uncle tho, too many of these damn kids running around uneducated with the thug life mentality.
