I've never really read anything before hollywood touched it til recently.
So I like knowing things! and I like comparing! it is alot of fun to get 2 different versions of the same thing..gives more insight and life to characters.
I hate book purists though. I hated them during Harry Potter and I never even read the Harry Potter books. Mostly book purists just complain way too early. You never know in an ongoing tv show like this whether writers are going to change things around, add things back in later or fix things for better..or worse. You can do anything in a book, but you're limited in film. I wish people'd chill the eff out..atleast until after the season or show ends.
I think this is why they changed the name of the show instead of using a book series tagline. Besides, as a TV series they can seperate book from adaptation and just make good television with as strong a link to the books as they want or as the source materials creator wants.
I honestly dont see the big deal with watching something youve read and have it played out word for word. Sure, you've got an image in your head you'd like to see..but that doesnt mean a producer is going to make the same interpretation visually that you have mentally.
