I felt guilty about it because I came very very close to finishing it but lost my memory card shortly thereafter. I know a lot of people hated it, but the war themed story was a nice change of pace from the randomly placed protagonist romance theme, and open vast environment made it feel like a single player FFXI which I absolutely loved. Not to mention there were random spawned "NMs" that dropped awesome loot but totally kicked your *** if you weren't prepared. Look up a few guide for leveling up online. The only issue I ever had with the game was how tedious leveling up was.
There's a way to level up rather quickly early on that'll give you quite a lot of gil and a relatively powerful weapon too. Debating if I should get Redeyes, Odin Statue or Carby Pole. Everything else can be obtained through typical gameplay.
