sheesh lol...
Catnip is thinking he found a long lost twin now : p

Az try plugging in an external DVD drive and if the cd still fails you know it's scratched or dmged and you need a new recovery disc

But don't give up on the comp unless you're sure it has motherboard dmg when you open it up lol

Nah the weirdest part is it literally boots from the CD that is in the CD driver to install windows but then mid install says no drivers found lol

The CD drive works perfect any other way, plays and burns DVDs just fine.
