I highly recommend Hondas because shaft drives are amazing and you don't ever have to *** with them like a chain or belt. Also, most of their newer models are all EFI (electronic fuel injection) which is awesome... Unfortunately my 1300 still has a carb though. Can find 750cc Shadows for pretty cheap, pretty common bike so not hard to find one in good shape for sub 7k. I'm 6'2" so I just look like a giant on anything that isn't 1000cc+ is my problem. Don't really like the looks of either of those...
I'll have too keep looking. Really depends on what type of bike you like. I'm a fan of the classic cruiser, so I love my VTX.
Thinking my next bike is either going to be a Victory 8 Ball or a Harley Softtail Slim. Ever since I saw this in Ahh! My Goddess!, I've kind of grown to like this:
 Not much of a fan of the euro cruiser.
The 1931 Brough Superior was a pretty nice bike, and was years ahead of it's time, engineering wise.
