Apparently it's in English because Enix planned to launch the game in the US but Enix America went bankrupt so it wasn't released outside Japan until 2008 when they remade it for PSP.

Yah the systems that originally adapted a CD format adopted the full-voice-over audio, so I think that would probably be PC-Engine (TurboGrafix-16 CD) for things like Ys books 1/2 around 1989/90 and Sega Mega-Drive CD (Genesis CD) for the 16-bit, for which Lunar 1 and 2 were early releases.

Star Ocean was amazing because it was an SNES cartridge, and thus very limited in capacity (compared to CD-ROM) no?

This is what I found on google but I'm sure leo has the answers

Quote:
The Super Nintendo was capeable of addressing 128 mega*bits* of space (bits vs bytes).

In reality, there was only about 117.5 megabits available that a game cartridge could use and they NEVER used close to this size because of technical limitations and cost.

The largest SNES games were 48 megabits in size, which is roughly 6 megabytes. Most games used hardware that was capable of using 32 mbit (4 megabytes) ROM chips in the cartridges. Some games used as little as 2 megabits of storage.

PS1 games are like 100MB - ~3GB (largest I found was resident evil 2 at 2800-3300)

Tried using the Infinite Justice instead of Zero Custom thinking that Phase Shift Armour would help me take less damage from the Zaku machine guns and Char's bazooka.
Ended up losing health even faster somehow. Also the reload rate on it's guns is horrid.
Oh and I tried using Dummy balloons thinking they'd help keep Char off my back for a couple seconds at least. *** didn't even flinch when I popped one off and just kept chasing me.

Rip it and load cfw on your PSP?

My PSP is looong dead, and I don't feel like tracking down a new battery xD
And as far as I know, the Vita hasn't been cracked to the same degree yet.

I use my Vita instead. Has too many games on it xD

Probably going to add Suikoden 2, Mega Man X4, and Mega Man X5 to that barren PS1 #2 folder.

I find 7 to be overrated and 9 to be vastly underrated by most FF fans. They think 9 is "childish" when it's actually very mature once you look past the graphics. It also has one of the best soundtracks.

Apparently, in VI, Kefka wasn't such a crazy character in Japanese. He was very different from the English version because of the translator adding/changing the script.

Kinda how they're changing things in XIV in main scenario quests. Some characters are quite different because the English team changes the text to make it more 'interesting'. The characters are pretty damn vague compared to the Japanese versions as well, kinda awkward when you play with Japanese audio.

He was still crazy but a lot less quotable in Japanese, he didn't have nearly as many funny lines so more just simple angry crazy than crazy clown.

His speech patterns were also odd in Japanese

This is for Son of a submariner

Quote:
The grammar pattern he's using there (he says "kaeshimasuyo") is NOT what fits in context. In fact, the -masu form is polite. And the -yo at the end there is feminine.

Quote:
Kefka says apparently nothing worth noting in Japanese here, just generic ranting like "I'll get you for this!" type thing that a lot of villains say...Kefka was a lot less quotable in Japanese you see.
