Still, you won't be quite as effective at beating those dumbass roommates with a lead pipe while you have a fever and flu symptoms.

Guess we'll have to spike their evening tea with arsenic in the lounge.

Last year during the video announcements class, I tried a thousand times to get my students to pronounce it as "library" in front of the camera, and every day they said, "lie-berry". It drove me bananas.

Or a shotgun shell to the chest by... Magnus!

Edit: Er... in the kitchen or something. I dunno.

We'll convince Oba-chan (King) to nurse you back to health. Just eat the rice porridge and lay in bed until you recover, young man!

Ugh, annoys me to no end when some people claim to be native English speakers, but can't seem to pronounce basic words*, or have trouble with basic sentence structure that is taught in every English class ever since entering grade school.

Actually not talking about anyone specifically, as I've run into university graduates and English majors who seem to have this very problem.

My grade 10 English teacher was one of these people.

This is how bad it's gotten here in Canada's Man-Pants:

I took a class at a university (If you can call it that, ASU is... yeah...) where a 19 year old girl, in the middle of a Creative Nonfiction class asked the question: "What does parallel mean?"

I... yeah, *** this planet, some days.

>do expedition
>kill 2 Yian Kut Ku, 1 Nerscylla and 1 Najarala
>get 3 new guild quests
>all 3 are Velocidrome

Kill me now.

On the other hand:
>about to cart to Nerscylla because forgot to stock up on potions
>Yian Kut Ku drops into the area
>does his charge attack where he spits fire everywhere as he goes
>knocks Nerscylla away from me
>flies off out of the area

Bird's pretty cool.

Don't you have any Velocidrome guild quests? That's all I did when I needed his parts.

At the very least, it was a 19 year old girl, rather than a "tried and tested" university graduated teacher with a Major in English literature. But I feel your pain.

Of course, I was able to get away with mocking this particular teacher for the entire year I was in her class.

Oh, I have a story for that one, too. Last year, I had the privilege to work with two other teachers. One was a student teacher like me, the other was a 40 year veteran and was slated to retire. In the middle of class, I put up the following phrase on the board: "We're going to take a quiz soon, so I suggest everyone start poring over their notes."

Not just the other student teacher, but both teachers (40 year vet, remember) insisted that I was wrong, and that verb was "pouring", as if the students' attention was some sort of juice or something. So, I did some digging, and found multiple accounts that all stated I was right.

Both are Arizona natives, so it's pretty obvious that the education system down here is crapola.

By all accounts, you shouldn't even need to use a dictionary to prove them wrong.

But yes, crap for teachers.
