And now it's Time for the second to last post before I shut up about Amiibos till April. I know you are so excited.
The 3rd Amiibo Championship's final Bout is between the 2 Nintendo Juggernauts Mario, from the Winners Bracket, and Link, from the Losers Bracket.
Mario was the one who beat Link into the Losers Bracket in this Tournament. Link managed to win his way back to the title bout though by overcoming the up and comer Pit.
One could say Link is in for another loss but if the last 2 Tournaments have shown anything it's that you can underestimate the learning power of a defeated Amiibo.
In the world outside of Amiibos, Mario and Link have been competing with each other since 1986. Both are considered rivals by most fans. In the realm of sales though it is no contest as Mario games have sold over 400 million copies world wide while Link games have only sold near 67 million. Many argue this by saying that Mario just has so much more games then Link which is true. Link has only had 17 games where as Mario has spawned over 200!
Without further ado Let's get those show on the road.
Mario -vs- Link
Round 1: Fight starts off even till Mario managed to score first blood with a forward smash on a recovering Link. Link managed to take Mario down but takes nearly 80% damage on his second life before doing so. The tide quickly turns at Link manages to get a fast second KO on Mario. Mario now on his last life manages to take Link to his last with little damage recieved. Both on their last life Link goes on the offensive. Mario gets Edge guarded against and while trying to recover gets Up Smashed by Link for the Rounds Victory.
Round 2: Link quickly goes all out against Mario. Creating a huge gap in damage. Mario recovers and managed to get the first kill while he has over 200% damage on himself. Mario keeps his momentum as he managed to kill Link a second time while only taking 5% more damage. Link is unable to land a clean hit and kill off the highly damaged Mario till it is too late and he has over 150% damage. Mario comes back on his 2nd life and takes Links final one winning the round.
Round 3: Link once again starts out strong. Mario quickly turns the tide though with his quick Capes (Forward B) and manages to secure the kill on a recovering Link. Link returns and evens the score after taking 50% damage on his second life. Fighting fast against each other they manage to score a double KO by fighting off the edge of the stage. Now both on their last lives Link catches Mario in a Up Smash juggle but Mario is able to escape only to be forward smashed for the final Kill. Round and Math are Links.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION RULE!
Due to this being Marios first time eliminated in this tournament he gets a second shot.
Round 1: The round starts off with both of them being extremely evasive and neither taking any damage despite exchanging blows for over 15 seconds. Link finally lands some damage and capitalizes on it and managed to secure the first kill. Mario returns and evens out the lives while only taking 15% damage. Link manages to take the damage lead with some quick Up Smashes and boomerangs (Forward B) which leads to Marios 2nd Death. Mario now on his last life manages to knock Link down to his last life as well but in the process takes too much damage. Link comes back and despite Mario managing to put a large amount of damage on him Link lands a running attack on Mario for the kill and the Round.
Round 2: Mario goes on the assault for once quickly stacking up the damage on Link for a 60% lead. Link recovers and evens out the damage before finally landing an Up Smash to take Marios first life. Mario manages to get Links first life but only after he has taken 60% damage. Link returns with a full intent to increase that damage and score another kill. Which he does why only taking 13% damage himself. Mario manages to get Links damage up there but Link also does the same to him. After a failed Edge guard by Mario Link lands the finishing blow.
