I really can't relate to people's obsession over those thingies.
The hype thing does have some merit though.
Just imagine how many people will be willing to buy $50-75 sets of each wave if Nintendo decided to re-release them as sets. Hell I would end up with doubles to get some of the ones I am missing. Thankfully I already went through my iPhone phase, I couldn't stand the phone. I'm happy with my Samsung phone. Toys R Us is doing an in-store pre-order event for the Amiibos on the 27th of April. They are warning limited quantities per store.
I looked at Alienware once, they look nice and fancy but they are mass produced rather than custom. Better to build your own and pimp it than buy mass-produced.
the bad bit of alienware isn't the parts, it's the markup. pay $600 for a $400 GPU today!
