Get ready for your first year solo, sir. Mine was an absolute doozy. Made me want to leave the profession. Hopefully yours will be much better. You know it's bad when your Freshman class is your saving grace.

The worst part about being a teacher isn't the students.
It's not even the damned corrupted school politics. (This no child left behind ***is ridiculous because you can't give the little *** a 0 for refusing to turn in his homework) It's the bloody parents who believe their child can do no wrong. That their child can't possibly be slow at learning, or have a learning disability because his or her parents discouraged any kind of mental stimulation at home aside from watching hours upon hours of recorded Day Time TV in the evening! (dramatization, obviously), or have an attitude of sheer entitlement that because they are paying for an education, their child should automatically get an A.

I rode that no child left behind ***to the bank. They can't fail you and your parents just keep sending you to school.
Rode that ***to 10th grade then just got a G.E.D. Doesn't matter if you have a 4.0 or a 0.7143 GPA. Up here in Alberta, the education system has to give you at least a 50% passing grade (well, so far as Edmonton is concerned anyways), just for showing up, and having a pulse.
Edit: I'm not even sure if you need a pulse. There was a cat a few years ago that got a college diploma.
