I was shocked that there was really only one room/building, and that the wall outside facing the street was pretty much all that was left of the Alamo. 9_-;; Needless to say it was neat, but um...it wasn't the most amazing tourist-y thing I've ever done. :p
You didn't go to the back area?
The Alamo was a mission-turned-fort during the Texas Revolution and the forthcoming Mexican War, most of the outer buildings were destroyed in the battle. But they restored some buildings in the back (going by memory, I haven't been at the Alamo for almost 2 decades)....
