There is a french song i like, but i only like it because of the Music video someone made for it for a contest called JapanExpo.

I think philosophy gets a bad-rap because it's stigma of being associated with a very narrow or limited demographic or lacking relevance to topical matters, even though in reality, it is very tangible to how the world conducts itself in both past, present and potentially the future.

From the perspective of perhaps half of the people in the P&R section, they hear the word philosophy and immediately think of the people with a useless degree. Maybe we ought to have a thread on philosophy, but I'm envisioning it getting shitted up kinda quick. If it takes, I'll draw myself a Sartre avatar.

To be fair...philosophy is a useless degree! But that doesn't make elucubrating about underlying theories at the base of issues we deal with in our society a worthless endeavour.

Considering that a PHD stands for a Doctor of Philosophy degree, I don't think philosophy is 100% useless.

Now the study of philosophy? Eh....yeah I don't see that applying anywhere but a classroom or a debate setting where people try to see which candidate's philosophies connect with them the most.
