The rules are still the rules. If you don't like them, the non-Google enforced rules actually are up for discussion, as I brought up when I reworked the forum rules. Talk to me about them! I'm not saying I'll go along with whatever, but they aren't written in stone and if you can make a case for a change, I'll listen.

Deciding you're above them, and causing enough of a ruckus that I get dragged away from what little free time I have, to deal with your *** temper tantrum? I want to say that's the mark of a child, but my toddler is better behaved than that. Get the *** out, and don't come back.

He does not make any decisions in a vacuum, so I don't really understand all the bile. His job is to follow up reports (which he does, faster than the rest of us, so you see more of him) and act on them (which he does, usually more lenient than the book requires).

I log literally every moderator action. If someone steps out of line, talk to me about and we'll know. There's no "he said/she said" anymore - it was one of the very first things I fixed when I get code access. But don't bleat about how a mod doesn't like you, when you openly break rules and claim to somehow be above all of this. You're actively making more work for them, so no, they probably aren't going to *** like you.

I recall a passage in the Odyssey where Odysseus had just made it back to Ithaca and was disguised as an old beggar for his return to his home. On his way, he was passed by some *** friend of the suitors who was riding in a cart. The dude started talking ***to Odysseus about how gross and pathetic he looks, and then kicks him in the side. Odysseus thinks about how cool it would be to beat this guy's skull in with a rock or something, but instead ended up remaining still and enduring it.

This, apparently, is in contrast with every other Homeric character, who would think of two courses of action, one of which was always to fight back, the other being something like running away. Odysseus departs from that trend by doing nothing, and in a Zen-like approach, being nothing (or nobody). It's also interesting to note that in the Homeric epics, cunning (Athena, Odysseus' supporter) was considered the opposite of force (Poseidon, Odysseus' enemy).

Anyway, at the end of the book he kills all the suitors and that *** on the cart using Eurytos' bow.

part of him being disguised as a beggar is to test his followers. i don't look at it so much as odysseus taking a zen approach to it as much as being very careful of not blowing his cover. however, i do see some truth in your point as part of the epic is odysseus learning his place. his trip home is extended by taunting the cyclops and enraging poseidon. he comes to realize throughout the story that he made the trip home harder than he had to. the world he lives in is one of the gods, and even the great odysseus had to learn how small he is.

Ah yes, there's that too, which I guess is ultimately the wisest choice (more points for his cunning). I also recall he regularly lies to people as part of his instinctive defense strategy, and then towards the end, Athena just straight up tells him to knock it off.

And then there's the part of the story where he banged Circe for like 20 years.
