By endlessly, you mean never to return to Earth, right? I mean, the idea on paper sounds like the adventure of a lifetime, but... I'm thinking of the logistics, here.
Yeah, we'd be scanning planets and other astrological creations, seeing things that no other human being has ever seen before. But, no matter how large the vessel, eventually it'll feel confined. We wouldn't be able to land anywhere, so even though I could see different planets, I wouldn't ever leave the confines of the spacecraft.
Secondly, we could sustain ourselves, but to what degree? Would infinite food combinations be possible, or would be restrained to... space potatoes? Gogo reference humor!
Thirdly, I'd never see my family again. Also, unless you bring on some ladies, I'll never to experience... that... again. I guess I could bring some magazines or videos, but it wouldn't be as sweet. Also, I guess I'd miss my brothers and mom and stuff, too.
So, as awesome as it sounds, I don't think I'm the man for the job.
