I've finally been defeated by a computer..

Anytime someone says that PCI-E 2.1 and PCI-E 2.0 are compatible, tell them they're full of ***. At best the compatibility is just situational.

What I've been told is that a 2.1 card will work in a 2.0 slot, but you will only have the speed/power that a 2.0 card would have.

Total horse ***.

Either way I have it working enough that my wife can finally play FFXIV with me, just not how I wanted it set up.. I didn't want the gaming machine to be her actual PC, I wanted it to be the thing I built, so it wouldn't be clogged up with ***and running slow.. But just in case, I made sure to find a low profile ready card (she has a slimline PC) which turned out to be a damn good idea..

Now the PC I built is for her TV tuner (it's PCI-E as well, and her comp only has one PCI-E slot, and we can't really afford to get a PCI tv tuner at the moment.) and the gaming machine is her original computer.

Kinda *** up that my huge *** HD4870 will work in the one I built (because it's 2.0) but not this new, smaller card.. -.-

I stopped at dsides and picked up plastic beach and the fall the other day. I think the music is more mature than the original albums, I like the change.

I like Demon Days quite a bit. I haven't listened much to their new stuff. I should get around to listening to it.

I was surprised to find out technically they only have 4 studio albums. They come up with enough remixes, singles, and standalone songs to make entire cds to fill the time in between albums

Yeah, I was just checking out their discography. Can you suggest any songs in particular?

I listened to albums backwards I got done with the fall first, listening to plastic beach now. So far nothings stood out to me like a Clint Eastwood or Feel Good Inc, but I like Hillbilly Man from the fall. I still enjoy the albums, I think moreso as complete units than other albums, just no really really fun singles.

If you liked Demon Days all or almost all the remixes on D-sides are really good interpretations. Kids with Guns (Quiet Village Remix) does some interesting stuff with mostly percussion the first half of the song.
